Awful Narrator

This narrator sounds like she’s reading a grocery list. Her intonation drops randomly in the middle of a sentence as if there’s a misplaced period. Maybe she’s doing this at the end of a line of text? Regardless, she needs quite a bit of training on her performance.

I can’t comment on the plot because the narrator was so awful, I had to stop listening. She’s fine when she does her own genuine British accent but her American voices sound like frogs. It’s ridiculous and annoying.

The narrator is great. I’d listen to her read just about anything. My favorite thing about KL Slater is that the main character isn’t always the good guy. I’m not saying whether that’s the case here, by the way. I type the same statement in every review I do of her books.

…but it won’t be your favorite. Narrator is decent. The ending feels rushed. Trigger warning: sexual assault

The physics and other science was way above my head but since Ray Porter was reading, it was still a pleasure to listen to.

The narrator’s voice is absolutely perfect! It’s a little raspy and deep yet still feminine. I could listen to her read the phone book!

No spoilers but it’s worth a listen. There are definitely slow parts but it gets better. The narrator’s depiction of the main character is annoying. She sounds like a whining child

Around chapter 37 I realized that I had only been listening to the past dozen or so chapters because Simmons Prebble’s voice is so relaxing. I have completely lost track of the storyline and, frankly, didn’t even care whodunnit anymore. AND I HAVE AN HOUR AND A HALF TO GO. Insomnia cure.

Perfect blend of mystery and romance. The narrator did an amazing job! All of her characters were clearly distinguishable Even in long dialogue without “attribution. Her male voices were very believable, too.
