Story
A part of me wants to run away again. The memory of my death still haunts my dreams. But this is my home now. And I'll be damned if I give it up without a fight. I mean, all I have to do is learn how to navigate xianxia politics and train for battle while simultaneously running my farm and uncovering an ancient cataclysm that apparently destroyed the Azure Hills back in the day. Meanwhile, I'm about to be a father . . . Man, I'm kinda screwed, aren't I? At least I can call in the cavalry—ahem, poultry—to help.

I love Ishmael Wang. He is the type of person that I would love to meet and hang out with. I enjoy the way he thinks outside the box and that he cares.
The narration by Mr Kafer is so good. Strong? I could listen to his voice for hours and I have. He conveys so much without sounding forced or over dramatic.

The corrupt and powerful PsiCorps is determined to usurp the Hunters as chief defenders of Apex City, and Joy is now squarely in their crosshairs. Unused to playing political games, she has very few people she can truly trust - not even Josh, her first friend in Apex City, who broke up with her when it became too dangerous for a Psimon to be dating a Hunter. Then Josh comes to Joy for help. He fears that Abigail Drift, the head of PsiCorps, will soon use him in her twisted experiments designed to empower PsiCorps and render Hunters superfluous.

I love the Hunter series by Mercedes Lackey. I have been a fan of hers since the 80's and own most of her books. I love this series/world and want it to continue. I don't understand why a 4th book hasn't come out yet.

I loved listening to this story. The performance was very good and the story wrapped up a lot of loose ends. It was exciting and action filled but still had good character growth.

I love all of the innkeeper books but am wondering what happened to Renee Raudman? She had the best voices. I still am eating this as 5 star for performance because it was well done and the narrator should not get dinged because of my preconceptions of how everyone sounds.

When I first started listening to this book I came close to turning it off and not finishing it but the performance was so good I pushed on. It got much better and when it was completed I had tears in my eyes and the hollow feeling you get in your chest when something ends and you wish dearly that it had continued.

Queen Victoria dismisses her from the Shadow Council, and the only person who can explain anything, Lord Akeldama, unexpectedly leaves town.
