Story
What if Mary Bennet’s life took a different path from that laid out for her in Pride and Prejudice? What if the frustrated intellectual of the Bennet family, the marginalized middle daughter, the plain girl who takes refuge in her books, eventually found the fulfillment enjoyed by her prettier, more confident sisters? This is the plot of The Other Bennet Sister, a debut novel with exactly the affection and authority to satisfy Austen fans.

This has such great reviews - I couldnt finish it.

The characters are NOT true to Jane Austen despite what other reviewers have said. I couldn't finish this book it was hard to listen to.

Story
Catherine Morland reads tales of Gothic romance, yet leads a country life in Wiltshire. When she travels to Bath, she meets and falls in love with Henry Tilney. She is invited by his sister and father to stay at Northanger Abbey, where she meets all the trappings of Gothic horror that she has read about. Fortunately, she has her own good sense and irresistible but unsentimental hero, Henry Tilney.

The performance was good. The story engaging. I really enjoyed the reader and the way she read the story.

Story
Cheesemonger Willa Bauer is proving that sweet dreams are made of cheese. She’s opened her very own French-inspired cheese shop, Curds & Whey, in the heart of the Sonoma Valley. The small town of Yarrow Glen is Willa’s fresh start, and she’s determined to make it a success - starting with a visit from the local food critic. What Willa didn’t know is that this guy never gives a good review, and when he shows up, nothing goes according to plan. She doesn’t think the night can get any worse until she finds the critic’s dead body, stabbed with one of her shop’s cheese knives.

Not Well Written

It's the author's first book and it shows. The focus on cheese is heavy and the believability of a small town cheese maker becoming an ammeter detective is low. She tries way to hard to fit her love of cheese and wine into this and the inconsistencies in the story glare out.
If you want a much better mystery series, go for Carol Higgins Clark's Reagan Reilly series instead.

Story
In the picturesque village of Branscombe, New Hampshire, the townsfolk are all pitching in to prepare for the first (and many hope, annual) Festival of Joy. The night before the festival begins, a group of employees at the local market learn that they have won $160 million in the lottery. One of their co-workers, Duncan, decided at the last minute, on the advice of a pair of crooks masquerading as financial advisers, not to play. Then he goes missing.

Short and Simple

This was way too short. The story wasn't terrible, but it lacked the usual suspense and complicated twists that usually inhabit these two author's books. The ending was wrapped up quickly and the character's didn't really give much to be invested in.

This was the first of the series I heard and was instantly hooked. I only wish it wasn't abridged. Still, it makes for a relaxing listen.
