Trading and Spiritual growth in one book
Reviewed: 01-28-21
I enjoyed the book. This one is more about the mental, emotional and spiritual aspect of becoming a successful trader. It's just what I was looking for. The narrator was perfect as well.
Keep in mind this book is not about technical analysis or trading strategies. There are many books like that on the market already, so this one stands out as unique.

Story
We're in the middle of an epidemic of average. So-called "normal" people get up every day, go to work, do what's asked of them, leave promptly at five, and return home to sit on the couch and watch TV. Society tells us that this is what it means to lead a balanced life. Don't stress too much or work too hard. Your career isn't everything. But Grant Cardone thinks this preoccupation with balance has really just given an excuse to be mediocre.

I love this guy, but really wish he’d stop pushing church of Scientology. Scientology as a subject is great in general, but the church is corrupt and evil to the core.
If you can focus on the positive there are many gems in this work. Great way of looking at obsession for success.

People starting out in business tend to seek step-by-step formulas or rules, but in reality there are no magic bullets. Rather, says veteran company-builder Norm Brodsky, there's a mentality that helps street- smart entrepreneurs solve problems and pursue opportunities as they arise. Brodsky shares his hard-earned wisdom every month in Inc. magazine, in the hugely popular "Street Smarts" column he cowrites with Bo Burlingham. Now they've adapted their best advice into a comprehensive guide for anyone running a small business.

Would you consider the audio edition of Street Smarts to be better than the print version?
This is a great book with really useful business advice. If you're running your own business or in management, then this book will add depth and options to your thinking. I was pleased to stay interested right to the end, and the stories were real, questions and answers applicable. I highly recommend it.

THE short cut to the best business concepts
Reviewed: 02-25-13
What did you like best about this story?
The Personal MBA is not like an academic MBA. Its a summary of the most useful business concepts that have real world application.
I found the book to be tremendously enlightening and clarifying, and I imagine it will continue to be my "first to go to" reference on all things business.
In terms of business education, its the best value money can buy. I have spent thousands of $$ on similar education, and I got this audiobook for $22. If I'd known about this book then, I could have saved a fortune.

Wishes Fulfilled is designed to take you on a voyage of discovery, wherein you can begin to tap into the amazing manifesting powers that you possess within you and create a life in which all that you imagine for yourself becomes a present fact. Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explores, for the first time, the region of your highest self and definitively shows you how you can truly change your concept of yourself, embark upon a God-realized way of living, and fulfill the spiritual truth that with God all things are possible - and “all things” mean that nothing is left out.

Its OK. It fell short of my high expectations.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I have really enjoyed Wayne Dyers material over the years, but this one didn't hit the mark in terms of new and exciting information. Most of the book is a recount of whats been happening in his life over the last few years. At the very end is a good manifesting action plan.
There were a few parts of the story that I found unbelievable. The most notable of these is the last hour and a half which is a transcript of a past life regression session he had. Its a tedious listen at this point, and because its not verifiable, I just lost interest.
Overall, if you're a Wayne Dyer fan, you'll still enjoy his warm and pleasant voice, and the consistently spiritual nature of his material.
Would you recommend Wishes Fulfilled to your friends? Why or why not?
It depends. I'd recommend it to Wayne Dyer fans, and perhaps people that are on the spiritual path. But its not for everybody.
Was Wishes Fulfilled worth the listening time?
It was rewarding enough for me to get through the whole book.

A simple way to gain depth and breadth in music
Reviewed: 02-25-13
Would you listen to How Music Works again? Why?
I'd listen to it again because there were many fascinating bits I'd like to hear again, and to reinforce the learning.
The author is quite a funny guy, reminds me of Ricky Gervais a bit, which is refreshing and keeps you listening for the next funny bit.
The information is presented so well, and I learnt so much about how and why music works, and how and why it makes one feel the way it does, I can't say enough good things about this book.
If you're interested in the science of music, or are starting out with an instrument you'll find this book has a breadth and depth of knowledge that explains so much more than any other single source.
Also, I would say that since having listened to this material, my appreciation of all music has been enhanced. I appreciate the skill in making great sounds so much more.
Any additional comments?
This book has a ton of information, which may or may not be interesting or useful to you. If you don't like learning for the pleasure of it, or are not really interested in how music works, you probably won't enjoy this book. But if you do, then you'll love it.
