First, I love that this was a "clean read." That seems to be hard to find in lesfic books. The author did a great job creating two individual and completely different characters. I enjoyed watching their friendship develop and appreciate that it wasn't a linear journey.

Story
Brooke Chambers is forced to leave the army and the job that she loves. Moving back into civilian life, she never imagined it would mean looking after her teenage sister and searching for a new career. But, with the sudden loss of their dad, Brooke finds herself stepping up, and in the process, looking for a new job - any job. Getting the chance to let off some steam, she heads to Art, a lesbian bar, and meets Catherine. It’s lust at first sight as both women feel that instant connection, despite the obvious age gap.

I loved the narrator and will definitely add her to my list of favorites. The story itself was believable, entertaining, and original. I appreciate that there was not a large amount of unnecessary drama, and at first I thought the epilogue would be predictable, but thankfully I was pleasantly surprised.

All-around great read
Reviewed: 12-16-19
As an autistic person, I thought the author did a great job portraying Cam. She wasn't a savant, just a regular person who happened to be autistic. I also appreciated that Laura was bisexual, as that part of the LGBT spectrum seems to be overlooked in lesfic. The story was great, and I'm looking forward to checking out more from Jax Meyer. Also, the narrator was wonderful.

I thought the narrator did a great job too.

When I was in middle school I wanted to work on a cruise ship when I grew up. This never happened, so I enjoyed living vicariously through Billie and Cara. The chemistry between those two was full of electricity, and the storyline felt natural and realistic. I thought the narrator did a wonderful job.

In You'll Grow Out of It, Jessi Klein offers - through an incisive collection of real-life stories - a relentlessly funny yet poignant take on a variety of topics she has experienced along her strange journey to womanhood and beyond. These include her "transformation from Pippi Longstocking-esque tomboy to are-you-a-lesbian-or-what tom man", attempting to find watchable porn, and identifying the difference between being called "ma'am" and "miss" (" miss sounds like you weigh 99 pounds").

What she does want is to meet her biological sister, Jack Camdon, a sister whom she didn’t know existed until she dreamt of her. Upon their meeting, many things surprise her - that Jack’s a lesbian with a wife and children, that she’s a dreamer who dreams in spirit animals, and that she’s a medicine woman, deeply rooted in the Ojibwe culture.

I enjoyed reading this book, though the friendship and romance between Scarlett and Joy seemed to develop at an unrealistically quick rate. Think "Better Than Chocolate." Even if it's a bit unrealistic, it's still a great book. Clare knows how to write steamy scenes for sure.
The narrator was great. I plan on checking out some other books that she narrators.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit, even though I'm not really into paranormal books. I live near Champaign, where this book takes place, so that was a fun surprise.
Gabe is a widow, still grieving her late wife. Anna is a woman dealing with a lot of religious baggage and insecurities. Their story is sweet and will make you smile and cheer them on.
