James Taylor tells his story so beautifully in prise and song. I've listened twice and want to listen again.

I listened on Audible. It is read masterfully by the author and I found it to be a compelling and great literary work of fiction that reads like an autobiography.

This book grabbed me from the start and I couldn't put it down. The characters were interesting, the storyline moved along at a nice pace, and I enjoyed learning reading about southern Texas during the mid-1800s. This book may be classified as a western, and it is, but it is also much more than that. I loved the author's portrayal of a diverse group of characters and the range of humanity that is displayed in this raw and wild west. Battles of good versus evil, along with the development of realistic characters, some likeable and some not, cause me to really look forward to Book 2 of Mark Greathouse's Tumbleweed Sagas.

This book is full of uncommon wisdom and is worth rereading over and over again.
