Story
Words. We use them all the time, every day, mostly without giving them much thought at all. We take for granted that they’re here at our disposal whenever we need them. But if you’ve ever wished you could communicate more effectively, words are the place to start. It’s incumbent upon you to choose the best words to accomplish your goals, because how you choose to communicate influences—well, everything! The power of communication shapes our professional goals, our relationships, and our lives—so the words we choose to use carry a great deal of power.

Story
All sorcerers are evil. Elisabeth has known that as long as she has known anything. Raised as a foundling in one of Austermeer’s Great Libraries, Elisabeth has grown up among the tools of sorcery - magical grimoires that whisper on shelves and rattle beneath iron chains. If provoked, they transform into grotesque monsters of ink and leather. She hopes to become a warden, charged with protecting the kingdom from their power. Then an act of sabotage releases the library’s most dangerous grimoire.

The first part of the book is the retelling of the fairy tale and is decent. The main character destroys the book in my opinion. She is very immature and very whiny protagonist. I ended up having to skip most of part two because it just droned on and on with the main character whining about how "she's so stupid and she can't possibly figure it out". The ending did not fit with the main character either.
Probably would never recommend.

Story
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

Avery humorous at times tale of a spunky would-be "hero" and her utter disregard for the normal way of doing things. I particularly loved the touches of dungeons and dragons-eqsue/RPG challenges. Good narrator as well. Would recommend as I listened to it straight through.

Mr. Goldson is filthy rich. He’s also callous and cruel and hasn’t got a festive bone in his ancient body. Naturally, he’s due for a holiday haunting. When his business partner, Bolbi Baggs, announces that they’re to be visited by three spirits, Mr. Goldson braces himself for a whirlwind tour of his past, present, and future. Mr. Goldson, however, isn’t human. He’s a Dwarf, and Mr. Baggs is a Halfling, and the adventure that’s about to take them across the enchanted world of Arth is anything but typical.

I drove right in after reading the first two in the dark profits saga. Excellent rendition and satire. I love the ability of the author to take something I know and turn it about 15° different. It was interesting to see into the origin story just a tiny bit for the two bankers that are so central in the saga. The narrator was excellent as well.

A fantastic play centered on a beautiful friendship between two strong women. The byplay between the two actresses who read the play is fantastic. The story starts off fairly abrupt but really kind of snags you and draws you in. I chose this book because I knew a little bit about Marie Curie but now I find myself wanting to go learn more about her life, her friend Hertha Aryton and their accomplishments. Strongly recommend!
