Story
A murdered guest at her first catering event? Definitely not good for DeeDee’s fledgling business. So much for post-divorce new beginnings. When Lisa, a well-known Seattle art gallery owner, is murdered at the event, shock waves ripple through the local Seattle art community. The following day, newspaper reports indicate the cause of death might have been poison in the food DeeDee served. She has to find the killer to save her business and her new life.

Really did not like the narrator! Spoke too fast with wrong inflection points! Would hope someone else would read future books!

Story
There’s chaos in Hollywood at the end of the New Year’s Eve countdown. Working her graveyard shift, LAPD detective Renée Ballard waits out the traditional rain of lead as hundreds of revelers shoot their guns into the air. Only minutes after midnight, Ballard is called to a scene where a hardworking auto shop owner has been fatally hit by a bullet in the middle of a crowded street party.

Really liked the way the story unfolded! Scary that it is probably close to the truth!

Story
Kay Willingham led a life as glamorous as it was public - she was a gorgeous Georgetown socialite, philanthropist, and the ex-wife of the vice president. So why was she parked in a Bentley convertible idling behind a DC private school, in the middle of the night, with the man who was the head of that school? Who shot them both, point blank, and why? The shocking double homicide is blazed across the internet, TV, newspapers - and across Alex Cross's mind. Kay had been his patient once. And maybe more.

The only problem I have is the reader pronounced Alex’ a daughter’s name wrong. It has always been Janney, not Janie!!

Reading vs. Listening
Reviewed: 08-05-16
The book was good but I think I would have liked it better if I had read it rather than listen to it. The way it moves from one part of her life, then to the past, then back to the present might be easier to navigate in print.
