About this listen

A murdered guest at her first catering event? Definitely not good for DeeDee’s fledgling business. So much for post-divorce new beginnings.

When Lisa, a well-known Seattle art gallery owner, is murdered at the event, shock waves ripple through the local Seattle art community.

The following day, newspaper reports indicate the cause of death might have been poison in the food DeeDee served. She has to find the killer to save her business and her new life.

Join DeeDee, Jake, a private investigator she's developed a relationship with, and Balto, her husky dog as they search for the murderer.

This is the first book in the Northwest Cozy Mystery Series by a two-time USA Today best-selling author.

Admittedly I didn’t finish this book. Story is marginal. Narration did nothing to bring it to life.

Couldn’t get into the story

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

Story didn’t have much to offer. I bought because I’ve spent time on Bainbridge Island and thought there would be more description included in the story.
Narrator audibly dropped last few words in a sentence often. Not clear enough.

Too simplistic. Boring.

The performance was awful. Will try one more in the series with a different reader. story entertaining.

The story was cute although the end was easily guessed. The narrator was awful, sad to say. It definitely wasn't worth the price paid for a book that's less than 4 hours. I probably won't pick up the rest of the series.

cute story

Find a different narrator. Simple light mystery. Good descriptions of locations and islands. Good descriptions of Artist of Seattle.

Find a different narrator. Simple light Mystery.

The narrators voice was difficult to listen to. I tried and finally gave up. Sounds like she is reading to children. I did not finish the book.

Disappointed

Really did not like the narrator! Spoke too fast with wrong inflection points! Would hope someone else would read future books!

Good story line

The narration was plodding. I feel like this was her first gig and she missed pronounced basic words. The story was basic and the writing forced. I’d skip it.

Ho Hum!

I don’t ever write reviews but it was very hard to get through this story due to the person reading the story. She had no voice change for any of the Characters. It seems like she was just reading the book as a fifth grader would do so. It was a fair story with a bad narrator and because of this I won’t be listening to any other of this Series.

Bad narration

From the first sentence the narrator sounded bored. Not sure if that tainted the story; it didn't help. This was a lame tale.

Boring
