Ahren can hardly believe his luck. His apprenticeship finally comes to an end, and Khara's interest in him is growing by the minute. He and his companions leave the Southern Jungles and sail westward, this time in search of two Paladins, who are apparently living a peaceful existence on one of the Isles of the Cutlass Sea. Yet their quest proves full of difficulties, for a war among the pirates has transformed the Cutlass Sea into a bubbling cauldron, hiding its own tragic drama.

maybe they let the "new guy" do the editing (especially Starting in chapter 13) and forgot to double check their work?... or the double Checker fell asleep at the wheel?... or the wrong version was uploaded, not the final edit?

this narrator was awful. the Irish, French and New Zealand accents all sounded British. also his inflection was wrong a lot of the time. and he must have been recording this in an apartment with noisy upstairs neighbors.

Story
At 22, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother's death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life: to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State - and to do it alone. She had no experience as a long-distance hiker, and the trail was little more than “an idea, vague and outlandish and full of promise.” But it was a promise of piecing back together a life that had come undone.

total waste of my book credit!
Reviewed: 03-25-20
the editing on this collection of books must have been done by someone half asleep. the narrator was great but the editing was so bad! first 7 pages of one book was completely missing. there were many spots of throat clearing/repeated/corrected lines. and it was obvious, by the great change in the character's voice, where 2 seperate readings of the same line had been spliced mid sentence. I hope I can get my money back.
