The first sections are worthwhile. The third guides the listener through an 8-week alcohol free journey. This section is basic coaching and if the listener has spent time working with a well qualified coach, the exercises will be familiar. The mocktails are full of sugar, so trading one vice for another IMO. There’s also online support which I didn’t tap into because I’m not on social media. All this said, this could be helpful for someone wanting to kick alcohol for a while.

Fun to have the book read, sung, and inflected by the author. As others have said, lots of name dropping... but then why wouldn’t his friends be in the entertainment industry? Enjoyed the backstories behind all his famous and funny works. For fans, not those who would say, “Eric who?”

Story
Humans have built hugely complex societies and technologies, but most of us don't even know how a pen or a toilet works. How have we achieved so much despite understanding so little? Cognitive scientists Steven Sloman and Philip Fernbach argue that we survive and thrive despite our mental shortcomings because we live in a rich community of knowledge. The key to our intelligence lies in the people and things around us.

Challenging and thoughtful

While a bit dry and academic, the ideas presented are interesting and eye opening. The concepts presented challenged me to consider what I REALLY know, giving me pause now before I espouse to be knowledgeable about any given topic.
