Even Better Than The First Book
Reviewed: 06-03-23
I read this in one day. It's got all the best parts of the first book and more! The stakes are higher for the kingdom, for the relationships, for the magic. This book is so much fun, I couldn't put it down.

Does NOT Disappoint!
Reviewed: 05-11-18
The Thief's Daughter is the second book in the Kingfountain Series and it is just as good as the first book. Jeff wheeler continues building the world, the plot and the characters in his usual masterful way. Political intrigue is married to action packed plot in such a perfect balance that is rarely done as well by other authors. This book demanded my attention from beginning to end and I am really looking forward to continuing on with the series.

This was such an amazing start to a series I know I'll be binge reading. Jeff Wheeler is now an auto-buy author for me and this is the only book I have read by him. He is an immensely talented writer, with a knack for weaving complex worlds and stories with equally complex and well loved characters. I highly recommend this to readers of all ages and especially to people starting out in the fantasy genera.

Story
Everything has a spirit: the willow tree with leaves that kiss the pond, the stream that feeds the river, the wind that exhales fresh snow. But the spirits that reside within this land want to rid it of all humans. One woman stands between these malevolent spirits and the end of humankind: the queen. She alone has the magical power to prevent the spirits from destroying every man, woman, and child. But queens are still just human, and no matter how strong or good they are, the threat of danger always looms.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Witchtown is well written with good, stabling pacing and an interesting plot that will keep you engaged. I also really liked the story arc of the protagonist. I hope to see more from this world. I found it interesting enough that I would like to learn more about it. That perhaps was the weakest part of the novel. I see a lot of potential for future stories in this world and with these characters.
