Story
Hygge (hoo-gah) is a Danish word but a universal feeling of being warm, safe, comforted, and sheltered - an experience of belonging to the moment and to each other. When life gets hectic, work grows stressful, and the days fly by, unplug and tune in. Hygge anchors us, reminding us to slow down, to connect with place and with one another, to dwell and savor rather than rush and spend.

Aside from the fact that the Danes seem to be, "practically perfect in every way," according to the author, I really felt that the book was crazily repetitive. I wish I would have started counting the times she wrote about a hot cup of coffee or tea or the lighting of a candle. I understand those are features of the ideology, but I really felt she did not have enough to say to fill a book.

Story
Tired of mortgage and car payments, 30-somethings Andrew and Gwynn sold everything they owned and escaped their humdrum nine-to-five existence for life in paradise - a tiny island accessible only by boat or air in one of the remotest spots on Earth: the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Woefully inexperienced, they took control of a luxury game lodge where the rich and famous went to sip gin and tonics with lions and elephants.

What made the experience of listening to Torn Trousers the most enjoyable?
As a whole, I found the book delightful. It was great to hear the different perspectives of the two main characters.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
However, I almost quit listening when the female began narrating Gwynn's chapters. She is not a gifted voice actor, and I believe the chapters written from Gwynn's perspective should be re-mastered with a different female actor.
