This hook makes bold statements without backing up any of the claims well. The whole book reads like an ad, for other hooks the author wrote and other goods and services they sell. really lacked any valuable insight and actionable details.

The blockchain parts were interesting, the art/greek crossover started weird, but got more manageable as the story progressed. the random references in the book to unrelated things was frustrating. authors commentary on the #metoo movement in the beginning of the book is problematic. other oddities like this took away from the main story.

Great look into poverty in America. Go into this book with an open mind and willing to challenge your assumptions.

there were some great parts of this book, there were some confusing parts. sections with well explained insight and sections wreaking of the authors unexplored biases. Even the he feigns exploring them. there are some good tips and learnings in here. It was hard to get to the end though. Didn't have a strong hook.

Lots of aimless monologing in the beginning

it was a good story by the end, but there is a lot of recapping the previous book, a lot of monologing for non story purposes and the nostalgia bit is too focused on a couple things that I didn't connect with like I did in the first one. not a bad book, not as good as the original.

I enjoyed this book. it didn't have the appeal that Marian had, but an enjoyable book with a decent story. wish the author took a few more chances with the characters. some felt poorly developed and the story was too clingy to their lives.

overall book was interesting, but short. feel the author could have done more to illustrate the key points and bring in personal experiences in more detail. good quick read, but not very deep on any one topic.

Almost didn't get through the opening of the book. It felt like watching movie trailer on repeat. tries to be an anecdotal story driven book, but the stories don't really carry through well.

later on the book starts contradicting itself. There is a section on how choice is wearing you down, but later the book rails on routine. Routine is a way to simplify choices through repitition. feel the author should have been a bit more cognizant of these crossovers.

Another one that bothered me is early in the book the author advocates action. To the point where you feel like you should go do something to make a big change. later on in the book she clarifies and advocates smaller steps as part of a plan and not being rash. probably should be brought up a bit earlier.

This book is filled with too many little tricks and not enough actual focus on deeper issues. it operates on the assumption that you know what you want. to me that's a huge assumption to gleam over. there are interesting points on human behavior, but lost in anecdotal stories and self help tricks.
