This book has it all. Love Story. Friendships. Humor. Strong women. Academia. Faux industrial incubator spaces. I related to so much of the relationship dynamics and was introduced to the experience of 1st generation Bengali immigrants in a new way. I am a social scientist by training and I loved every detail of Wai. The author teases an idea for a tv show adaptation and I am HERE for it. I love discovering this book the day it came out but hate the wait for more.

What a wonderful journey through time and place with my favorite heroine in decades! I want it to be a movie but don't at the same time because it would be so hard to do well.

Perfect Pandemic Escape. Magical!

I went to download Night Circus to re-listen to it for a break for the Pandemic news and quarantine life and saw this book. The stories and characters are even more riveting than Night Circus. Morgenstern writes like a literary cinematographer, painting pictures in your mind.
If you love libraries and geography, this is a must read. I'm starting over right away so I can follow the threads now that I know where they lead.
The performances are great. My kids and husband got sucked in anytime they were in the room.

Story
When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

Engrossing story with several layers
Reviewed: 08-30-18
Since Gone Girl there has been a flood of this type of story. This one stands out because of the well-crafted characters.
During the time I was listening to this book, I thought about the people regularly.
I was hesitant to select the book because it had two authors. In my experience co-written books are clumsy or juvenile --excepting King and Straub.
The added conversation with the authors at the end helped me understand how it strengthened the book and story. I am eager to read what they come up with next. In fact, I would love to have them over for tea.

Gone with the history

What did you love best about Gone with the Wind?
This book enriched my week at the beach. It has been decades since I read the book, and the story is so much more than the movie.
What did you like best about this story?
I really saw Scarlett in a different light than my younger self did. Now I admire the strength and the "tomorrow" philosophy, though I do still want to hit her every time she fawns over Ashley.
Which character – as performed by Linda Stephens – was your favorite?
Toss up between Scarlett and Rhett. As a native Atlantan, I really appreciate natural Southern voices. Most go over the top.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I wanted to ignore my family and live in the story.
Any additional comments?
Loved it!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Secret to be better than the print version?
I learn better from hearing than seeing so this was great. It was easy to find a few minutes to listen in traffic or while putting my kids to bed.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Secret?
We are always creating. Words are powerful.
What aspect of Rhonda Byrne and contributors ’s performance would you have changed?
The cheesy sound effects and music.
