Story
Critically acclaimed, perennial New York Times bestselling author Bernard Cornwell (Agincourt, The Fort, the Saxon Tales) makes real history come alive in his breathtaking historical fiction. Praised as "the direct heir to Patrick O'Brian" (Agincourt, The Fort), Cornwell has brilliantly captured the fury, chaos, and excitement of battle as few writers have ever done—perhaps most vividly in his phenomenally popular novels following the illustrious military career of British Army officer Richard Sharpe during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Listening to his Mr. Sharpe brings me back to my first encounter with him, as played by Sean Bean in the BBC adaptation of Sharpe’s Rifles.

Great story, too bad it’s Abridged

I enjoyed listening to this story, but I would have liked to know it was abridged before buying it. Timothy Zahn has again woven a wonderful tale of that Galaxy far far away.

Sophia Loren, always charming.

Sophia does her always wonderful job in telling this story. Her narration adds perfectly to the story. I also grew up on the Disney version. I think this is close to its equal.

Another wonderful foray into the Witcher’s world.

This is my second time listening to this series of books. Having played Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. It has been highly entertaining to see where the characters started from, and got to their respective places at the start of the game. This series is well read by Peter Kenny, he brings a delightful array of voices to the characters.

It’s Tim Curry, do I need to say more.

Listening to Mr. Curry read this was like listening to an old friend. He has a wonderful grasp of the nuances of the story, and a great grasp of the characters. I have his readings of “A Series of Unfortunate Events” books, and my only complaint was the they had been written earlier so that we could have seen him play Count Olaf.
