Delightfully Delicious Tale
Reviewed: 11-30-24
This is a delightfully delicious tale of unexpected romance adventure and mystery. You will emerge from this clash between the ages knowing that, beyond some glitz and glamor, the modern age has nothing over the magic and joy of ages past. This book/audiobook performance will satisfy any taste in genre and leave you wanting more. I anxiously await the next adventure, Lady Bryn.

This incredible book is packed with not only tons of space adventures but also tips to improve ourselves and get us through daily life even when not in space. I will be listening to this often.
A few quotes and paraphrases that caught my ear (there are many more):
* Friendship is optional, but trust is essential.
* Confrontation is great if your goal is to be right, but trickly if your goal is to be trusted.
* Allow yourself to be in awe of others.

Hallie Barrett's life has imploded after she's dumped by her hotshot ex, who also happens to be her coworker and the star of the online series she was producing. Without a new show to present for the company competition, she’ll be out of a job. But inspiration can come from the strangest places . . . like the most handsome guy she’s ever seen passionately discussing Bigfoot on a late-night docuseries.

The Internet and smartphone are just the latest in a 250-year-long cycle of disruption that has continuously changed the way we live, the way we work, and the way we interact. The coming Augmented Age, however, promises a level of disruption, behavioral shifts, and changes that are unparalleled. While consumers today are camping outside of an Apple store waiting to be one of the first to score a new Apple Watch or iPhone, the next generation of wearables will be able to predict if we're likely to have a heart attack and recommend a course of action.

I wish this series would be read by youth in YM/YW class or seminary. Maybe then the youth could begin change the rotten things in the LDS church that adults have too much invested in to change.

Story
From age 11, in 1974, until she left the show, in 1981, Melissa Anderson literally grew up before the viewers of Little House on the Prairie. Melissa, as Mary, is remembered by many as the blind sister - and she was the only actor in the series to be nominated for an Emmy. In The Way I See It, she takes listeners onto the set and inside the world of the iconic series created by Michael Landon, who, Melissa discovered, was not perfect, as much as he tried to be. In this memoir she also shares her memories of working with guest stars like Todd Bridges, Mariette Hartley, Sean Penn, Patricia Neal, and Johnny Cash.

Story
This riveting narrative explores the lives of six remarkable female pharaohs, from Hatshepsut to Cleopatra - women who ruled with real power - and shines a piercing light on our own perceptions of women in power today. Female rulers are a rare phenomenon - but thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt, women reigned supreme. But throughout human history, women in positions of power were more often used as political pawns in a male-dominated society. What was so special about ancient Egypt that provided women this kind of access to the highest political office?

The central conceit of this book is that it is an oral history that women passed down from generation to generation, based on inspiration by God instead of genetic relationships or priesthood authority designations. The book is given to Christ at the end of the two volumes, when he appears to righteous Lamanites and Nephites waiting for him.
