Story
Ben and Marian Rolfe are desperate to escape a stifling summer in their tiny Brooklyn apartment, so when they get the chance to rent a mansion in upstate New York for the entire summer for only $900, it's an offer that's too good to refuse. There's only one catch: behind a strange and intricately carved door in a distant wing of the house lives elderly Mrs. Allardyce, and the Rolfes will be responsible for preparing her meals. But Mrs. Allardyce never seems to emerge from her room, and it soon becomes clear that something weird and terrifying is happening in the house.

In The Wind Through the Keyhole, Stephen King has returned to the rich landscape of Mid-World. This story within a story within a story finds Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, in his early days during the guilt-ridden year following his mother’s death. Sent by his father to investigate evidence of a murderous shape-shifter, a "skin-man", Roland takes charge of Bill Streeter, a brave but terrified boy who is the sole surviving witness to the beast’s most recent slaughter.

felt good to revisit old friends
Reviewed: 12-16-22
I loved being back in Roland's world with my old friends, this book should be read after Wizard and Glass The Dark Tower book 4 as that's where it fits. anyone a fan of the series will enjoy the book only thing was Stephen King's voice isn't the greatest as he sounds like an english teacher at first, but your ears will adapt and become part of the story great book, wish he could do more on The Gunslinger and his friends, but it probably wouldn't fit with the original books

While following the deserted I-70 toward a distant glass palace, Roland recounts a story about a seaside town called Hambry, where he fell in love with a girl named Susan Delgado, and where he and his old tet-mates Alain and Cuthbert battled the forces of John Farson.

The best book out of the series
Reviewed: 12-12-22
I'm a big Stephen King fan and usually read anything by him. I came across The Dark Tower series in my teenage years and fell in love with the characters and was blown away by the series as King is considered the master of horror and this isn't really his typical work, in my opinion this book is the best one out of all the tower books it nails what was intended to do and showcased young love at its finest when love was at it's purest form. I love going back to this book and the series years later and just revisiting Roland and his friends almost like I'm part of it. If you are a fan of Stephen King I suggest you give these books a try, but start from the beginning...if it pleases ya Sai

Story
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

I never read this book in school, I don't know why, but its interesting to see how things were back then and compare them to now. It makes you see the beautiful and innocence of color through a child's eyes something that in adulthood we loose no matter how hard we try

Story
An army of monsters walks among us, hidden in plain sight. They're fast. They're strong. They're unrelenting. And they only want one thing: The shitty gas station at the edge of town. Coming as a surprise to absolutely no one, Jack - night-shift clerk and local crazy person - has found himself neck-deep in the middle of yet another world-ending terror. And this time around, nobody can be trusted. Not that tough-as-nails cop who probably knows a lot more than she's letting on. Not the adorkable new employee who might be something far less innocent than she appears.

I actually enjoyed this second installment of Tale from the gas station! first one would get good then bad and at times boring to repeat itself, but it also was a good introduction to the style of this writer.

Worn out after decades of packing steel and raising hell, Viv, the orc barbarian, cashes out of the warrior’s life with one final score. A forgotten legend, a fabled artifact, and an unreasonable amount of hope lead her to the streets of Thune, where she plans to open the first coffee shop the city has ever seen. However, her dreams of a fresh start filling mugs instead of swinging swords are hardly a sure bet. Old frenemies and Thune’s shady underbelly may just upset her plans. To finally build something that will last, Viv will need some new partners, and a different kind of resolve.
