Story
When Emily and Jess Volnik's family inherits a remote, crumbling Scottish castle, they also inherit the Boggart - an invisible, mischievous spirit who's been playing tricks on residents of Castle Keep for generations. Then the Boggart is trapped in a rolltop desk and inadvertently shipped to the Volniks' home in Toronto, where nothing will ever be the same - for the Volniks or the Boggart. In a world that doesn't believe in magic, the Boggart's pranks wreak havoc. And even the newfound joys of peanut butter and pizza and fudge sauce eventually wear thin for the Boggart. He wants to go home....

A Delightful Story
Reviewed: 03-02-22
I have read this book as well as listened to it here on Audible both are delightful experiences. I think I perhaps preferred reading it but it has been a joy to sit and knit and listen to this recording.
Susan Cooper is remarkable writer and I highly recommend her The Dark is Rising series either to read or to listen to on Audible. The recording of this series is outstanding. Highly recommend.

Story
‘I never once attended a Sunday morning church service in Stanford. There was always the feeling that they weren’t aimed at families like ours.’ Pam Ayres was the sixth child in a hard-up family who lived in a council house, her parents’ generation were harrowed by the war. Yet they lived by the green in the village of Stanford in the Vale, where everything you needed was within walking distance and the sound of motorcars was rarely heard.

This was a delightful listen! Pam Ayers come across as completely genuine, and very nice women who is immensely talented and hard working and who truly appreciates the gifts of her innate talent, of her family of her friends, and of her audience. She shares her joy and wonder of life with the listener. Do not misunderstand this is not a sticky sweet book. It is a book that makes you laugh out loud and that makes you pause in thoughtfulness. I highly recommend this book.
