Miss the old Doc. This "action" story is very dark with unnecesary brutallity and macabre scenes, narration is unusually poor by such an old and exprienced narrator. Dissapointing.

Amateur shallow two dimensional writing, with performance to match.
Waste of a perfectly good credit.

The writer’ fascination with lengthy and detailed descriptions of torture, gore, and mutilation, are entirely too much and unnecessary to write a good mystery thriller.

Lou Diamond Phillips is the best narrator I’ve had ever heard on any audiobook ever !
The rest is a typical Wolf salad of characters and disjointed events keeping you hoping for something to happen but little does and eventually the book mercifully comes to a whimpering end.

A religious recruitment story for Catholics, poorly written and strangely narrated straws with accents that supposedly are Hebrew but could be Italian or Swahili or anything else... gave up halfway.

This must be an early DeMille learning to write, and paid by the word...
I love all his other books and his characters and tight plots - not this one. Did he actually write this?

Painfully long and slow story and a narrator that will put you to sleep.
Ends suddenly as if missing the final chapter...
Not the Arkady we know.

Gripping fiction woven around factual history. My only displeasure is with the comical pronunciations of Hebrew words and names...: similar to French, the emphasis of most Hebrew words and names is at the beginning, not the ending of the word.... but we can’t ask for it all to be perfect.

Great listening to another Gabriel Alon spell...! First rate characters and events that are parallel to news events and historical facts.
any Le Carre fan would enjoy Daniel Silva and his characters.
