About this listen

Summoned to Rome by an old friend, a Jesuit scholar finds himself using a code discovered in the Bible to unearth an ancient, hidden chapel in the catacombs under the city. When a rogue force of Vatican security officials are alerted to his discovery, the priest flees to the Holy Land with a clue...a clue that will lead him and a team of Israeli Christians to a much larger secret in the middle of the barren Negev Desert.

Meticulously researched and drawing on scientific fact, John Lyman's intriguing story takes listeners into the world of scholars, archaeologists, code-breakers, and intelligence specialists who have discovered a prophetic code hidden within the Old Testament that authenticates the Bible as a book of supernatural origin and points to a divine plan. This gripping novel is truly a thought-provoking and action-packed thriller with implications for our future.

Excellent Book

I enjoyed this book tremendously. it was action forward, together with deep character development. if you know the Bible and enjoy prophesy, you will not be disappointed.

Predictable

The main characters weren’t likable. I didn’t miss them when the book was over. The relationships were a little forced. Plot was good versus evil. Good was a little too good. Evil was too evil. Slow start.

Hmmmm....

well narrated! accents done superbly. at times hard to figure out which person speaking with Israeli accent but not enough to distract from the story. definitely pushing the Christian narrative and for someone who does not follow the faith may find some of the story lines very fanatical and unbelievable. kept my attention while driving because the history surrounding much of the story is very interesting and anyone who enjoys history will acknowledge that.

Great Series well written and narrated.

Great Series but the only thing I hate is there are too many characters to keep track of. Especially in book 3. I love all the plots and narrator, but I actually had to make a chart to keep all the characters straight and constantly check who's who. I think 3-5 main characters is plenty overall in a series otherwise it starts to get really confusing and a pain to check who is talking.

Here's only part of the characters and I know the names aren't probably spelled correctly because I listen to the books rather than read them.

Good Guys
- Enzo Corelli - Papal Secretary
- Pope Michael
- Cardinal Leopold Amedayo LEO
- Bishop Anthony Morelli - Chief of archeology to Vatican has country home
- John Low - Franciscan Monk Father Morelli's Assistant
- Levine Wasserman - mathematician and code breaker
- Aeriala Wasserman - daughter of Levine married to John
- Evita: Friend of Leopold fiancé
- Abass Odeak: search leader Muslin friend of Morelli Spy Mexican CIA OP archeologist
- Javier Mendoza: Israeli friend of Lev, Morelli and Leo spy works for CNI Israelian
- Sarah Adam's - works in Ad agency in NY, former flight attendant for Lev, her husband is Daniel who's Lev's code breaker.

Levine's Men:
- Mosher 55 years old - head of security
- Alon Lavey 35 years - old security
- Nova - Alon's fiancé and helicopter pilot
- Gabriella - Helicopter Copilot of Nova
- Daniel - code breaker
- Mia - archeologist

Average and predictable

Had high hopes for this one and greatly appreciated the lack of profanity and sexual themes. However the plot twists were predictable and somewhat flat.

Very pro-Christianity

The story itself does require some exploration into The Old & New Testaments, but the characters frequent need to praise God and their willingness to accept certain supernatural occurrences as part of God's plan with no hesitation makes the main characters feel very one dimensional. There is very little background development as to HOW the characters grew to develop their depth of faith and it makes the story feel very forced.

Very well-read & a really good yarn...

I have high hopes going forward with this series! The narrator is very good at the different types of accents from different cultures 1 or 2 times I got confused about who was speaking to whom because the characters had the same accent but man I was entertained to the end... Would be a 5 for 5 but book 2? Come on man (I need to upgrade to get some credits) book 3 is started & wow... I'm hyped about where this is going!
