A young girl called Tozi stands at the bottom of a pyramid, waiting to be led to the top where her heart will be cut out.... Pepillo, a Spanish orphan who serves a sadistic Dominican friar, is aboard the Spanish fleet as it sails towards Mexico.... This is the epic story of the clash of two empires, two armies and two gods of war. having read many of Mr. Hancock's books, this is my first time with his historical fiction. it may very well be my favorite. the characters and the narration is wonderful. don't let the volume of this wonderful book scare you away. it's an absolute breeze, and so much fun.

Story
In Goliath, New York Times best-selling author Max Blumenthal takes us on a journey through the badlands and high roads of Israel-Palestine, painting a startling portrait of Israeli society under the siege of increasingly authoritarian politics as the occupation of the Palestinians deepens. Beginning with the national elections carried out during Israel's war on Gaza in 2008/9, which brought into power the country's most right-wing government to date, Blumenthal tells the story of Israel in the wake of the collapse of the Oslo peace process.

This is a very important topic, I believe isn't talked about enough in America. Thanks so much to Max who does a fantastic job of describing daily life in Israel, and just how openly racist and bigoted what seems to be a big portion of Israeli population is.
