The lack of conclusion!
Reviewed: 12-26-24
A good book that after a detailed good story fails to conclude key story plotting and makes an obvious choice of a next part without really making a satisfying conclusion to this build up of plot.

Story
Summoned to an abandoned theme park to retrieve a body, Dr. Kay Scarpetta is devastated to learn that the victim is a man she once had an intense love affair with. The murder scene is bizarre, with a crop circle of petals around the body, and Giordano’s skin is strangely red. Scarpetta’s niece Lucy believes he was dropped from an unidentified flying craft. Scarpetta knows an autopsy can reveal the dead’s secrets, but she is shocked to find her friend seems to have deliberately left her a clue.

Kill Kerry, please.

I’m sick of Kerry ! This book would have been better without her, only her capture redeemed that! She is not Sherlock’s Moriority, but rather is taking away from the books now. Let her go, please. Ha!

Story
A pool boy enters a secluded Bel Air property and discovers two bodies floating in the bright blue water: Gio Aggiunta, the playboy heir to an Italian shoe empire, and a gorgeous, even wealthier neighbor named Meagin March. A married neighbor. An illicit affair stoking rage is a perfect motive. But a “double” in this neighborhood of gated estates isn’t something you see every day. The house is untouched. No forced entry, no forensic evidence. The case has “that feeling,” and when that happens, Milo turns to his friend, the brilliant psychologist Alex Delaware.

Different ending from most!

Ends more upbeat than most or kellerman in general, but evil pay the price, as he should. Rubinstein is great reading and story is original .

Don and Adaras relationship developed,
Reviewed: 12-18-23
The storyline was far better than expected, given it was a kinda one off normal campus involvement, it was well done and the start of a relationship I now understand better was a big bonus. Scott brick was great as always, and the tension of the various threads of the story blended in well to a satisfying ending. I know he can’t tell the others not involved but it explains so very much about Dom. Well done!

It appears she was struck by lightning - except the weather is perfectly clear, with not a cloud in sight. Dr. Kay Scarpetta, the Cambridge Forensic Center's director and chief, decides at the scene that this is no accidental act of God. Her investigation becomes complicated when she begins receiving a flurry of bizarre poems from an anonymous cyberbully who calls himself Tailend Charlie.

Too redundant with slow progress.

The best was at the end, but it took way too long to unfold and led to so much repetition, that I almost gave up before the next reveal. The book was half over before the body was at the morgue. Reading was good.
