About this listen

One of Tom Clancy's most storied characters, Dominic Caruso, is the only one who can stop America's secrets from falling into enemy hands in this blockbuster new novel written by Clancy's longtime coauthor.

Over the course of three decades, Tom Clancy created a world alive with prescient action and remarkable individuals. In Tom Clancy Support and Defend, Dominic Caruso is presented with the deadliest challenge of his career.

Dominic Caruso. Nephew of President Jack Ryan. FBI agent and operator for The Campus, a top secret intelligence agency that works off the books for the U.S. government. Already scarred by the death of his brother, Caruso is devastated when he can't save a friend and his family from a terrorist attack.

Ethan Ross was a mid-level staffer for the National Security Council. Now he's a wanted fugitive on the run with a microdrive that contains enough information to wreck American intelligence efforts around the world. The CIA is desperate to get the drive back, but so are the Russians and various terrorist groups all of whom are closer to catching the fugitive. Only Caruso stands in their way, but can he succeed without the aid of his Campus colleagues?

Missing the techno from a techno thriller

Good story, lots of action, great character development. However sadly you can tell Tom Clancy had no input, as this is the first release after his death. Mark Greaney wrote a great spy novel, but more in the style of Ian Fleming’s James Bond. Will be reading the rest in the series.

Vintage Clancy filled with action, adventure and suspense against an international background.

Great take with fascinating pet mutations. Beautifully narrated. Gripping through the solidly sewed up resolution.

Suspenseful

This book out of all the Tom Clancy books that I have read was one of the top two that I have come across in the last three years. I was totally riveted throughout the book and spent many extra minutes in my driveway trying to listen through each chapter before I could allow myself to step out of the car and go into my home. This certainly is a must read! Absolutely an awesome book. Great narration which jacked up the suspense that much more.

Dom caruso

great story line spanning 4 contenents. Dominic Caruso is a badass as I always figured after his initial introduction into the tom clancy novels as an fbi agent with a hot temper and a brother who was KIA.

Tom Clancy's Support and Defend

Would you listen to Tom Clancy Support and Defend again? Why?

Yes, I would. I like Scott Brick's narration. He is easy to follow and makes each character distinct and interesting.

What other book might you compare Tom Clancy Support and Defend to and why?

Command Authority, also written by Tom Clancy, has a similar feel to Support and Defend.

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I listened to The Survivor, which as equally as good.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. But, I did enjoy the book from start to finish.

Not Clancy... And that's ok...

This story isn't like other Clancy novels. It is more succinct, more story... Slightly less detail. However, i like that it bridges the gap in timeline by fitting in between the last 2 Jack Ryan Jr. Campus Novels.

Sherman and Caruso aren't the worst choice of characters, but they are hardly my favorite, either.

Standard Tom Clancy

Where does Tom Clancy Support and Defend rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I am beginning my Audiobook experience, and this is only the second I have listened to. However, I have read several Tom Clancy books, and as usual, this one did not disappoint. Twists and turns all the way through.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Very much so. Just when you think you know what is going to happen, a curveball gets thrown at you.

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I don't want to ruin it for anyone, so I will keep that one to myself :)
