A good story will always add to any lesson worth learning. This author knows how to put it all together in a paletable story anyone can relate too.

Slowing this book down was they only way I could understand all the information offered in this treasure. It is a lot but seems to cover all the bases. I wish I would of listened to it many years ago.

Who has grit like this guy? Not me. From his reasons for buying this old town to how it tried to destroy him - this is a well written, thought-out book. Lucky the world is to be blessed by Mr. Underwood sharing his story with us. I have been following him and his story for years and look forward to visiting, volunteering and embracing Cerro Gordo someday soon.

If you want to know the ways of the people before you, you have found it. This is a classic, and beeds to be learned by anyone in business so you know what to do and what not to do. A lot of these older ways fight against our new LEAN business ideas but, you can't break the rules if you do not know them. Enjoy.

This book explained a lot of what is in my mind and heart when I think of a sewing machine. The relationship I built with sewing and my mother making my cloths meant so much to me. It took this book for me to remember that. The steike of 1911 at the Singer meant a lot to all of us in this industrialized world. Thanks for putting it all into words and a great story with a few twists, turns and creative prose.
Our story with small meaning machines has rarely been so well told.

The future of audiobooks is here and it is all starting with this. The story is everything one would expect it to be with much more human interest than you can shake a stick at. The character voice actors do-not disappoint as they completely understood the asignment. The post audio editing is missing a few things but I am sure that can be fixed soon.
How blessed we are in this time to have the talent of Tom Hanks, Rita Wison and the rest of the cast expound thier talents in this medium. I thabk you all for your efforts and dedication to your craft.
I will be buying a new-to-me typewriter, recommending this book and a typewriter to everyone that I know including my mother.

I first thought that this book would not be long enough, I was wrong. From people to the things we produce, it has it all. No matter what side of the management or worker table you may sit on, this is a must listen if you are interested in making money these days.
