Story
For most of us, fear is something we try to avoid. And fearing God hardly sounds like an occasion for joy. But Jerry Bridges shows how the fear of the Lord is actually the key that opens the door to a life of true knowledge, wisdom, blessing, and joy. We all want a deeper, more intimate relationship with God - one that's characterized by joy. But how does fearing God lead to joy? After all, aren't we supposed to love him and live in intimate relationship with him?

The performance was fine, but I was bored by the very basic nature of the content. I would have appreciated more a more nuanced and sophisticated approach, especially regarding a discussion of 1 John and "perfect love casts out fear." I also felt that this work still produced more "fear" than "joy" in me... Nevertheless, a solid biblical introduction to the concept of fearing God.

Story
Most people who want to get better—at hitting golf shots, negotiating with clients, delivering presentations, or any other field of endeavor—seek out new information. They read a book, take a class, hire an expert tutor. But as Alan Fine has learned from many years of coaching athletes and businesspeople, this “outside-in” approach often doesn’t produce the results people want. More information becomes a distraction rather than a solution, and high performance remains elusive.

This book is brilliant and life-changing! And the audiobook is actually better than the book because all the many dialogues are acted out. So very grateful for this phenomenal resource!
