In this book, Susan Cahill recounts the lives of 22 famous Parisians and then takes you through the seductive streets of Paris to the quartiers where they lived and worked: the scenes of their greatest triumphs and tragedies, their favorite cafes, bars, and restaurants, and the places where they found inspiration and love.

Reading and eating, like Krazy and Ignatz, Sturm und Drang, prosciutto and melon, Simon and Schuster, and radishes and butter, have always, for me, simply gone together. The book is a product of these combined gluttonies.

This book tells the story of the intricacies of what goes into preparing a dish in a Chicago restaurant. The book was interesting but often became mired in detail. I wish the author had narrated the book. He would have added a vibrancy to the book

Boring and repetitive at times, the piece is way too long. For the story it tells. The readers performance is uninspired. Great topic but is presented in a dry unexciting manner. At the beginning of the book, the story had much promise, but it lost me with repetitive discourses in the middle . I struggled to finish the book
