A JOURNEY TO FIND THE TRUTH
Reviewed: 07-07-17
This book was an eye opener. And the path the author cleared for us to follow was a winding, and sometimes frustrating one.
This cases has been a good example of what can and will go wrong in our imperfect justice system. And what can happen when someone decides to take a look at one side of a case, and the results of their views and opinions, on all the people whose lives are affected by their telling of an already volatile case.
It is well written an the narrator does a great job. If you have watched the Netflix series Making a Murderer, then this is something you will definitely want to listen to.

Story
After his December 2003 arrest, registered nurse Charlie Cullen was quickly dubbed "The Angel of Death" by the media. But Cullen was no mercy killer, nor was he a simple monster. He was a favorite son, husband, beloved father, best friend, and celebrated caregiver. Implicated in the deaths of as many as 300 patients, he was also perhaps the most prolific serial killer in American history.

This is definitely an eye opener. I understand that people can be blind to the unspeakable things one human being can do to another, but wow. And the reactions and consequences to these things can be just as upsetting. This book brings that home. I was fascinated from the start, and would recommend this book to any who are captivated by true crime.

I am a Nora Roberts fan, and I was not disappointed with this book. And I loved the narrator, the Irish lilt gave the characters more . The story touches you, and you suffer and love with the characters.
I read this book years ago, and loved it, so when I saw it here, I decided it had been long enough, so I purchased it. And while I had enjoyed reading it, hearing it was even better. I'm glad I decided to hear it, and would recommend it.

ANOTHER FASCINATING ADVENTURE
Reviewed: 12-25-15
I have read or listened to almost all of the Dark Hunter series, and love it when pieces slip into place. I have not read them in order, so I consider it a bonus when I learn what was going on in the background, so to speak, during another books plot. Once again, I was thrilled when I listened to this book. I enjoyed the plot, and I love Jessie. It's a fun, sarcastic wit that makes me want to continue enjoying these characters. Especially since I have a very similar personality. I, as always, look forward to the next book I will listen to from this series.

This book, this story is unbelievable. Wow..I vaguely remembered hearing about this years ago, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around this mother, and what she did to her children.
The book is excellent and I thought the narrator was very good. It is a book I would recommend.

On March 16, 1992, Elizabeth DeCaro, a 28 year-old mother of four, was found dead in her own home, murdered execution-style with two bullets to the head. Her husband, Rick, was immediately a suspect, having previously struck her "accidentally" with the family van after taking out a $100,000 life insurance policy on her. A Killer Among Us presents the true shocking story of Elizabeth's family and their search for justice against the man who continued to play father to the children whose mother he had killed.

ANOTHER AMAZING TALE
Reviewed: 10-12-15
I am not sure why, but true crime has a hold on me. I am constantly baffled by the events which take place within the pages of these stories. I want to understand how lives can spiral so far out of control, while the world moves on.
This book captivated me from the first. I had a hard time putting it down, so I did so only to sleep. As I listened to Kevin Pierce, I felt the the frustration, the agonizing helplessness of all the people who were swept up in this tragedy. Understood that there is never a "winning" side, even if justice is achieved.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes this type of book. It is cleverly written, and Kevin Pierce has an amazing way of telling the tale. Oddly, he has become one of my favorite narrators.

Like all the other books in this series, didn't want to put it down. Always wondered about Max, and having his past now, I can't help but love him all the more. There was, as usual, much playful bantering that had me laughing out loud. I would recommend this book , because I enjoyed it immensely, and I am already listening to it for a second time.

ANOTHER GREAT BOOK
Reviewed: 08-03-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would absolutely recommend this book. In true SK style, how could I not. It's quite an enjoyable book.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Kiss of the Night?
I loved it when we first see how overly protected Wulf is when it comes to Chris.
Which character – as performed by Fred Berman – was your favorite?
I would have to say Chris, you can't help but feel for him, even though you can't help but laugh at his situation.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A whole new new take on the phrase "Have we met"?
Any additional comments?
I love the sarcasm, and bantering that goes on between the characters. It's priceless, and reminds me of myself, probably one of the reasons I so enjoy her books.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Reviewed: 08-03-15
Where does Doc: The Rape of the Town of Lovell rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's among the best of them. Well told, and gripping. The kind of book you don't want to put down. I think given the topic, it makes it to the top tier of my favorites.
What did you like best about this story?
While I hate the crimes committed, I loved the way in which it was both told and narrated.
Which scene was your favorite?
Not wanting to give anything away, I will have to say it was the part where the elderly lady was giving her testimony in the criminal trial. Given her shyness at the start, you can't help but stand up and cheer!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely! And to be honest, I only put it down once, because I had to sleep. But when I awoke, started listening again.
Any additional comments?
I am an avid true crime fan. Having said that, this story has to be one of the worst. It angered me that so many reported these crimes, but because the accused was not of their religion, nothing was done.
The women who came forward should hold their heads high. Unfortunately given where they are from, they were treated as though they were the ones who committed the crimes. Regardless, they persevered and in doing so prevented who knows how many other women from their fate. Both the author and the narrator did a wonderful job bring the story to us.
