Story
Perry Firekeeper-Birch was ready for her Summer of Slack but instead, after a fender bender that was entirely not her fault, she’s stuck working to pay back her Auntie Daunis for repairs to the Jeep. Thankfully she has the other outcasts of the summer program. Together they ace obstacle courses, plan vigils for missing women in the community, and make sure summer doesn’t feel so lost after all. But when she attends a meeting at a local university, Perry learns about the “Warrior Girl”, an ancestor whose bones and knife are stored in the museum archives, and everything changes.

The best book you will listen to this year has it all. Love intrigue danger and wisdom

What I like most about the story is that it is written in as much Ojibw'ay as English. This technique brings the. Reader into the story like a gold plated invitation. By such th reader is taught some of the language and made to feel welcome in a story line that could otherwise beawkwardlyy excluding.yet at the same time this technique also and Quite to the contrary allows the reader to fbetter feel the very real pain f the character’feel for the loss/theft of their ancestral heritage.the writing i flaslight illuminates the contents ofwe alll hope miss boulley writes another book soon!

Story
Kentucky, 1850. An enslaved groom named Jarret and a bay foal forge a bond of understanding that will carry the horse to record-setting victories across the South. When the nation erupts in civil war, an itinerant young artist who has made his name on paintings of the racehorse takes up arms for the Union. On a perilous night, he reunites with the stallion and his groom, very far from the glamor of any racetrack.

Heartbreaking uplifting page turner not too be missed

Narration sounded authentic for the period and setting: made the story come to life in away it might not have otherwise, in otherwise a tru performance and experience for the listener. Horse is so much more than a story about a hors. It is a great adventure, replete with nail- biting scenes and replete with heroes and villainsa love story between a boy and his horse.. th story includes historical details about the American civil war and the deep sadness surrounding slavery that continued to manifest into the lives of contemporary residents of Washington, D.C. the story includes fascinating and instructional details about horse anatomy. I recommend watching “American horses” onvideo to round out everything horse. If you’re not already a horse lover, you will be. Like the dog this creature has been a true friend to mankind

Story
Kim Lord is an avant garde figure, feminist icon, and agent provocateur in the LA art scene. Her groundbreaking new exhibition, Still Lives, is comprised of self-portraits depicting herself as famous murdered women - the Black Dahlia, Chandra Levy, Nicole Brown Simpson, among many others - and the works are as compelling as they are disturbing, implicating a culture that is too accustomed to violence against women.

Entertaining mystery and insight into native culture
Reviewed: 08-18-21
I liked the sharing of language and culture some of the violence was a bit too graphic, so you might not want children within earshot. The resolution was predictable, but satisfying.

Story
Jamie Fraser knows from his time-traveling wife Claire that, no matter how unlikely it seems, America will win the Revolutionary War. But that truth offers little solace, since Jamie realizes he might find himself pointing a weapon directly at his own son - a young officer in the British army. And Jamie isn't the only one with a tormented soul - for Claire may know who wins the conflict, but she certainly doesn't know whether or not her beloved Jamie survives.
