As the story began, I thought this was going to be another "Liza Dolittle" tale but it was far more than that. I like the occasional light story with simple entertainment. The Proposition fit the bill.
Narration was good, especially going between a proper British accent and the tough Cockney accent. Though slightly predictable, the story and narration was thoroughly enjoyable b

I was excited when I got this book on sale. As I started to listen to it I realized that the plot was kind of thin. It just became thinner and thinner, to the point of breaking. I wish I could say nice things about the story but it was ridiculous. On the bright side the narrator did a good job with what she had to work with. Please don't waste your time or money.

Any additional comments?
I rarely ever write a review but I believe I owe it to fellow Audible Listeners. To put it simply Silent Partner was lame. The plot lacked any substance. It was predictable and not entertaining. The narrator couldn't remember to be consistent with her accents for a character. I love listening to audiobooks but this was a complete waste of time.

It seems at first like a simple, tragic story. Tyler Wingo, a teenage boy, learns the awful news that his father, a soldier, was killed in action in Afghanistan. Then the extraordinary happens: Tyler receives a communication from his father...after his supposed death. Tyler hires Sean and Michelle to solve the mystery surrounding his father. But their investigation quickly leads to deeper, more troubling questions. Could Tyler's father really still be alive? What was his true mission? Could Tyler be the next target? Sean and Michelle soon realize that they've stumbled on to something bigger and more treacherous than anyone could have imagined.

1st book I've read in the series but not the last

What made the experience of listening to King and Maxwell the most enjoyable?
I like a book that welcomes me each time I return. Many books I read are for entertainment and this was one of them. Baldacci did a great job spinning a tale with just enough twists and turns that it stayed unpredictable. I liked the characters and look forward to going back in the series and learning more about them.
Which character – as performed by Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy – was your favorite?
Both are great narrators. I know a book will be good when Orlagh Cassidy is a part of it. With that said, I did enjoy Ron McLarty's character a little more.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No but that's not a bad thing. I go back to my earlier comment about being entertained by a book. Even when I can, I don't want to sit and watch a whole TV series in one weekend, I prefer to be caught up in the story, a little at a time.

I thought I loved Jane Austen's work
Reviewed: 03-29-12
What would have made Sense and Sensibility better?
I wish the book had a less tedious plot. I kept waiting to start caring about the characters but it never came. I forced myself to listen to the first third of the book but I couldn't go any further. It was tremendously boring. The narration was good, it was just the plot I couldn't stand.
Would you ever listen to anything by Jane Austen again?
I don't know. I loved Pride and Prejudice but could not stand Sense and Sensibility.

I liked the perspective of the story being written from Hadley Hemmingway's point of view. As with many geniuses, Earnest Hemmingway was a troubled man and those around him were made to suffer too. Though this is a fictional autobiography, I found it to be enlightening and very enjoyable.

In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

Simply an amazing book/audiobook
Reviewed: 08-22-09
I am an avid reader and audiobook listener. I have never enjoyed an audiobook as much as this one. The narrators of the book (4 in total) did a magnificent job. The author wrote a beautiful book. This is the book my thirteen year old daughter should read over the summer, not the standard dribble that her school requires.
