Fantastic Primer for Understanding the KW
Reviewed: 02-22-23
I highly recommend listening to this book as a primer for understanding the Korean War. Some of the topics it discusses include:
- the reasons for entering the War
- the various strategies employed by all sides
- the policies those strategies were meant to achieve
- the fighting both sides endured
I found this to be a great book and its importance to understanding our current times cannot be understated. Well worth your time.

She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times...and spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn't, her world begins to crumble. And its shocking secrets are laid bare.

Not bad, not great
Reviewed: 09-22-22
The storyline wasn't bad, but it was painful to finish. The book seemed long and drawn out with choppy sentences. The narrator sounded much older than the character, so it didn't feel like a good fit.

With his trademark mirth and boundless charisma, actor Nick Offerman brought the loveable shenanigans of Twain's adolescent hero to life in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Now, in yet another virtuosic performance, the actor proves that despite being separated by a span of over a century, his connection to the author and his work is undeniable and that theirs is a timeless collaboration that should not be missed.

Reviewed: 09-01-22
I had no real expectation of this book being great. I enjoyed Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, but thought that was the pinnacle of Mr. Twain. I was incorrect as this must surely be his masterpiece. It was really good and Nick Offerman's performance was superb.

Story
In his landmark best seller The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell redefined how we understand the world around us. Now, in Blink, he revolutionizes the way we understand the world within. Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant, in the blink of an eye, that actually aren't as simple as they seem. Why are some people brilliant decision makers, while others are consistently inept?

I don't know why I read this book.
The author demonstrated a lack of experience and understanding of the different professions discussed.
The theory can be supported by anything and disproved by nothing.
And I don't know why or how, but if I listened to this book prior to working out, I either skipped my workout or put in half an effort. I am so happy to be done with it.
