Excellent intrigue, so many secrets!

Nathan Grant was introduced to us in the previous book. In this book Nathan is sent to Paris to do something he never thought he would! When Nathan meets his victim things really take a twist and Nathan decides maybe he should do some investigating himself. Nathan gets in so far over his head we just never know what might happen next. I found it interesting meeting the characters in this book and especially learning their backgrounds. Nathan is a very smart man that is able to see things that most of us would never think of. He seems to be able to spend time at fancy places without spending a lot of cash as well as indulging in exquisite cuisine. We all need to learn how to get money to go as far as he does. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to listening to more of them. The author has done an excellent job writing a great book and narrator Alex Freeman brings it to life beautifully.

The main characters in this book all have problems in their background and it tends to come out in their actions. Isn't that the way it is in life? We think someone is a grouch, or a snob, when really they could just be shy or insecure about what people think of them. The author has done a great job of showing us to not look at the external person but to take the time to get to know who they really are as we have no idea what a person could be going through or has gone through. We get to see an entirely different side of Jules in this book and I found the story to be refreshing in the ways things came to pass. I'm enjoying this series about the people that live in Eron and the many battles that people have.

Another enjoyable time with friends in Eron

In this book we get to meet Zach, a Dr. and missionary! Of course he is handsome and rich lol! But more than that he's a man of integrity, I really liked his character. Noah is the handyman and carpenter of Eron. I didn't really care for him as I found him to be a charmer. In the end he too had found a place in my heart. Chloe is a clothing designer with a boutique in Eron, but she is also such a sweet lady as she does much to help anyone in need. I really loved Chloe's grandma Jeannie she is a woman after God's heart and she will pray for every situation that needs it. I also enjoyed getting to know Jules, Chloe's childhood friend that helps run her business. Jules is a funny character that will make you laugh out loud at the words that come from her mouth! Nothing is held back with Jules! This trip to Eron was fun with all the angst the characters put themselves through. A really great book, which the narrator does a great job with!

Story
After 10 years away, Sofia Wise returns home to mourn the loss of her grandmother, and she’s desperate to reconnect with her family. When a dark, devastatingly handsome stranger shows up on her family’s doorstep, Sofia takes one look and is tempted to make her visit permanent. The problem is, the town’s detective is suspicious of her entire family, and it might take some convincing to prove that she’s more interested in the man himself than in the complex case at hand.

There are a lot of hard feelings in this book that the characters can't seem to let go of. I enjoyed the characters and how the story deals with things that actually do happen. I think that the town of Eron seems like a great place to grow up and find your future in. I liked that this romance also had some suspense in it, as I usually just read and listen to books with lots of suspense and mystery for me to figure out. Even though this book is stand alone I'm hoping that the next book will continue with the same characters going through life situations. One of the other things I enjoyed about this book is how the gospel message is woven through it beautifully.

Oh my goodness getting to know the characters in this book was such a sweet experience. Daisy has placed herself firmly in my heart, she is such a wonderful little girl lol even when she is whining and wanting her own way! Andrew is a brave strong firefighter that can be brought to his knees but he also has some issues he needs to work through. Bianca is a single mother that has had her heart broken and isn't about to let it happen again. Carmen, Bianca's mother is a hoot that has no problem speaking anything that comes into her head. This is a very enjoyable book that has some places that had me almost in tears. The author has written a book that really takes an honest look at what it is like to lose a spouse and what it takes to move forward. I highly recommend this book.

Story
An adrenaline junkie, a homebody, and the camping trip that ignites their love at first sight. When Leila’s students challenge her to go camping, she sets out armed with a bucket list designed to force her out of her comfort zone - the indoors. Her trip starts with a broken car, a twisted ankle, and several forces of nature. She expected a few bumps along the way, but not the handsome stranger who comes to her rescue. Ezra has no time for romance, preferring to spend his rare time off from work as a firefighter enjoying nature.

Layla is going on her first camping trip, one of the items on her bucket list. It's funny the things that happen to this poor girl as she tries to fight her fears. Ezra is a firefighter that loves his single life and how he is able to do all the things he enjoys on his days off.
These two are hilarious and as you listen or read this book you will find yourself smiling at how serious they take everything. I love the way the author has taken us on a camping trip with so many sights to see and all the crazy things that happen when you do go camping. You can tell this is something that she has done and enjoyed to be able to write about the scenery and the fun things you can do when you decide to explore the great outdoors!

This is the first book I have listened to by this author and narrator and I have to say together they have given us a story that will touch your heart ❤️. Skye is a beautiful young woman who has had to deal with many heartbreaking situations that she feels she must hide inside. After all who would want anything to do with someone that has such secrets. Pete has also been through a terrible blow that has left him as a charter boat captain trying to make a living for him and his young daughter. I found the characters so easy to care about especially the young girls Sparrow and Pete's daughter. The information about the wildlife that is natural to Florida and Alabama was very interesting to find out about. A really great book that I would definitely recommend.

Charles McIntyre built the lawless, godless mining town of Defiance practically with his bare hands...and without any remorse for the lives he destroyed along the way. Then a glimpse of true love, both earthly and heavenly, changed him. The question is, how much? Naomi Miller is a beautiful, decent woman. She says she loves McIntyre, that God does, too, and the past is behind them now. But McIntyre struggles to believe he's worth saving...worth loving. Unfortunately, the temptations in Defiance only reinforce his doubts.

I really enjoyed listening to this book both the author and narrator put a lot of work into making this an exciting book to listen to. I must have read other books in this series as I remember the main characters, sisters trying to make a life in the Colorado wilderness. As God becomes more real to different characters of the lawless Defiance, we see beautiful changes. But because this book is one written at a time when soldiers were trying to push Native Americans into small places to live there is still lots of animosity. I will definitely be reading or listening to more books in this series!

This story took me by surprise, I'm not much of a romance reader. I like my books to also have suspense! Well guess what this book does have suspense just not the way I expected it! This book takes us back in time and yet they already have airplanes so maybe a time mistake or my mistake in the timeline. Interesting things took place during the time period and I enjoyed how everything came about. I think that the narrator also did a great job of bringing the story to life which made me like it more. I didn't care for the first ending but the real ending was great!

even though I was able to guess who the guilty party was early in the book, I enjoyed the story that got us there, and let me see I had guessed right! Miranda Steele is one tough lady and she seems to have a real knack for being a private investigator. Wade Parker wants her by his side so he knows what she is up to but Miranda is not someone that likes rules. I am really enjoying seeing how these two compliment each other and encourage the other to grow in different ways.
