I have been addicted with the author's books. Every single book has kept me on the edge of my seat. I like the intermixing of current and past, as well as the ghostly element. Hopefully she's working on more books like this.

Incredible ride....
Reviewed: 01-12-21
This is my first novel from the author, and boy, was it an incredible ride. I believe i finished all 16 hours in a matter of a couple of days. The narrator made this book even more fantastic. Towards the end of the book, I found myself wishing that another book would NOT follow this one. I don't believe that my heart can handle the excitement.

Story
A best-selling author’s wife has been found dead in a gorgeous black evening gown, sitting at the head of an empty dining table. Her most chilling feature - her face is frozen in a ghastly smile. At first it seems as though a deranged psychopath is reenacting the gruesome murders from the Witch Hunt trilogy, best sellers written by the victim’s husband. But investigator Jessica Niemi soon realizes she’s not looking for a single killer but rather for dozens of believers in a sinister form of witchcraft who know her every move and are always one step ahead.

Waste of time...

I don't know if the original book was in Finnish, as perhaps the translation into English was not equivalent. But this is a horrible book, a waste of money. The story, the language in which it is told makes it a rough book to finish, which I did not. The narrator was the only good aspect of the book.

Great story and great characters. If this novel were continued as a series, I would definitely follow. What really turned me off, was the narrator. The accents that he used to depict the Hispanic American, Asian American and African American characters, were just racist and unnecessary. If he just spoke in his normal tone, I would still believe that these characters of those ethnic backgrounds. It grated on my nerves every time he spoke for them.

I know that this is fiction, but this book was even more unbelievable than the earlier two. And I say this, knowing that it is supposed to be FICTION. Maybe because there is so much non-fiction injected into the book peripherally? That being said, the author provides a wonderfully written novel.

Examining the dolls, forensics makes a shocking discovery - a fingerprint belonging to a young girl, a government minister’s daughter who had been kidnapped and murdered a year ago. A tragic coincidence - or something more twisted? To save innocent lives, a pair of detectives must put aside their differences to piece together the Chestnut Man’s gruesome clues.

What did you love best about Fire and Fury?
Everything about this leader scares me. But I was compelled to hear this book, to know what his inside circle thought of him.
What did you like best about this story?
Based on everything we have heard and read about this person, who in their right minds would think that this book is anything other than non-fiction? He stole the republican nomination right under the noses of the right wing gurus. He then fools the white majority into believing that he is this Wizard of Oz, when he is in fact more dangerous than Putin, or Kim Jong-un. I’m scared for our future.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes

New Orleans belongs to me. You don't know my name, but I control everything you see - and all the things you don't. My reach knows no bounds, and my demands are always met. I didn't need to loan money to a failing family distillery, but it amuses me to have them in my debt. To have her in my debt. She doesn't know she caught my attention. She should've been more careful. I'm going to own her. Consume her. Maybe even keep her. It's time to collect what I'm owed.
