Things just did not flow well for me!

After enjoying everything about Zander and Angel’s story in Loving Man; I looked forward to Leona and Pastor Israel story, but I did not enjoy it! First the narrators reading style was not engaging and some pronunciations were off. It is the narrators job to help us visualize and make alive the words they are reading and they failed to do so. Usually a good audio story takes me roughly 24 to 72 hours (depending on the length) but I struggled with this story - quite a few starts and stops…several things made it unappealing for me: the narration; many characters; vacillating between past and present; and prolonging what happened in the past relationships. A couple of these issues were fine, but this many felt like they were fillers to lengthen the story causing a disconnect. Regardless, I like the author so I look forward to the next story in the series!

A bit too long

Story was too long! Vienna held on tight to her insecurities causing those outside the relationship to easily mislead her, which caused her to regurgitate the same issues over and over. Dane on the other-hand issues were explained more fully (taking the time to explain it once) where we could visualize what he experienced and, we sympathized and felt his need to protect himself was paramount.

Thank you for sharing with us the fullest of the matriarchs lives; most-often we see the heads as standing in a position of authority and protection but not see the passion that’s still shared between the two. :-)

Too Long

This book had potential but it was too long. The uncertainty of commitment was draining! I’d listen for a while, put it down for days then give it another try only to remember why I took a break previously…I finally gave up and strolled through some of the chapters.

Uncomfortable but Accurately Written

This book WAS hard to listen to but there are situations within some relationships that will shatter one’s soul and reading/listening to those testimonies can give a multitude of people the strength and courage to survive.

I wholeheartedly extend my thank you to the author for keeping it real!

Couple Drawbacks

Don’t want to reveal too much but I wish one character could’ve triumphed sooner, and for the other to have manifested more alpha qualities toward others.

Mostly Recommended

4 stars for the first and second story but the third not so much 2.5 stars.

I enjoyed the first two story and easily delighted in the sweet romances. For me, the third story was just not feasible. As a parent..although the heroine held no responsibility for the event that transpired, I would have found embracing this romance unbearable! For this reason I gave a lower rating for the ‘Series Story’ because of #3.

To Much Back and Forth

I liked the characters but I had whiplash going from the past to the future and back. The writer tried to incorporate each of those character’s lives in those scenarios and it was a bit overwhelming at times. I wish they could’ve spent more time on the mother, daughter and (clued in) father getting to know each other as a unit. After 17 years apart with life issues and experiences..they are not the same.
