We all know what it's like to long for something different, something better, something more. The Comeback celebrates new beginnings. It offers encouragement and perspective, and it's for you if you feel frustrated or confused, if you're sorrowing or in pain, if you've made mistakes or are grieving, if you're disappointed or feel as though life doesn't make sense.

Disappointed

While this book was a recommendation from a junior pastor, I found it to simply just drag on way to long. Why is it that some modern authors seem to believe that value is driven in some large measure by length of what they have to say. Couldn’t finish this book and disappointed.

I listened and I thus book on Audible and loves it! Incredibly good scripture based lessons that I find extremely valuable. I’m buying the book and the workbook for my library and re-read and study!

Story
Once again, John Gierach tells the world why the pastime of fly-fishing makes so much sense—except when it doesn't. In sparkling prose, with more than a touch of humor, he recalls the joys of landing that trout he's been watching for the last hour—and then losing an even fatter one a little later. Joy and frustration mix in Gierach's latest appreciation of the fly-fishing life as he takes us from his home waters on the Front Range of the Rockies in Colorado to fishing meccas all over North America.

The chapters drag on and on and lost me enough times it just wasn’t worth completing the book. Not John’s best work by any stretch.

Story
"One of the best acid tests of an introductory book...is that the text allows the reader to learn an important skill independent of the illustrations. Fly casting is very difficult to teach in person, and even more so in print, yet this book contains the best, the most interesting, and the most effective introduction to fly casting I have ever read."

While fly fishing is a real passion of mine I have developed a dislike for fly fishing books that just pontificate and drag a subject or experience out beyond what’s needed. Just my taste — so I found myself spitting the fly out throughout this book in each chapter because of that.
