Story
It all started with a contract signed by him, then by me, while our families watched. While my father sat silent, a man defeated, giving his daughter to the Benedetti monsters. I obeyed. I played my part. I signed my name and gave away my life. I became their living, breathing trophy, a constant symbol of their power over us. That was five years ago. Then came the time for him to claim me. For Salvatore Benedetti to own me. I had vowed vengeance. I had learned hate. And yet nothing could have prepared me for the man who now ruled my life.

Not a bad story, but I did not like the narrator
Reviewed: 04-28-22
If you liked Natasha night's other books. You likely enjoy this story also. My only challenge was that I did not enjoy the narrator. It was very difficult to tell when he was switching between characters because there was not enough distinction in his voice. Unfortunately I wanted to know what happened but at the same time I could not wait for it to be over.

Wow... I saw the movie first and then wanted to read the book because well the book is always better right? Not in this case. I hated Massimo in this book. What an ass. Michele Morrone did it way better.

Story
The tide is turning against the colonists in the Revolutionary War, and 18-year-old Elizabeth Morris cannot sit by idly. Quietly disdainful of her Tory parents, who drag her along to society events and welcome a British soldier into their home during their occupation of New York City, Elizabeth decides to take matters into her own hands. She realizes that, as a young woman, no one around her believes that she can comprehend the profound implications of being a nation at war - she is, effectively, invisible. And she can use this invisibility to her advantage.

I'm always unsure when I try originals. However, Christian White wrote a very clever story that kept me interested the whole time. I love a book full of twists and turns and so much emotion. You could feel the grief of Stan. Really amazing. Give it a try.

Kismet... what a story of human resolve

Did not know what to expect when I began this story. What I found, was that I could not put it down and listened to the whole thing in one sitting. I cannot imagine what life was like for this family and how tragically dysfunctional patterns continue. Each person experiencing the decision of one man. Thank you for sharing such a personal story.

Story
Tobias thought sequestering himself alone on a mountaintop would protect his ravaged heart, but even he can’t deny the passion of an unearthly love. Tobias had gotten so used to living in perfect - if lonely - solitude that nothing outside an act of god could have driven him back out into the world.... He thought he was finding safety in isolation, but love has a way of sneaking past even the most well-guarded fortress.

Took me a bit to get into the story. I even thought of returning it. But then.... something happened and it grew on me. So much so that I purchased the next book in the series. The book is not one of the most skillfully written, but all the same, it takes a hold of its reader and draws you into the next level. All in all, I enjoyed the story and hope you will too.

Story
Set in present-day Los Angeles, Junk explores an epic conspiracy, one at work for thousands of years that involves total takeover of the planet Earth by aliens. In the wild, souped-up vision of Les Bohem - the acclaimed, Emmy-winning writer of the Steven Spielberg miniseries, Taken - the world is at the end stage of long-range plot that involves a gigantic genetic-engineering project. The aliens who have invaded us have no planet. No spaceship is coming. Instead, a small advance force comes, breeds, and dies - thus becoming an anomaly in our DNA that can’t be explained.

So we were warned
Reviewed: 03-23-19
Despite the warning of explicit language and themes, I thought I would give this book a try. Wellllllll, I didn't even make it an hour. While some may find this novel appealing, for me it was just unnecessary gore, language etc. It might be fine for you, but I prefer to fill my day with things less obtuse and graphic.

At first I was thinking that I wasted my money/credit on this choice. But after a few chapters it grew on me. i'm not sure exactly what it was that kept me interested. Maybe the characters became a bit more electric, the story a bit more interesting. In the end I found myself looking for a second book. I would try this author again.
