Story
There are three rules Brooke Sullivan must follow as a new nurse practitioner at a men’s maximum-security prison: 1) Treat all prisoners with respect. 2) Never reveal any personal information. 3) Never EVER become too friendly with the inmates. But none of the staff at the prison knows Brooke has already broken the rules. Nobody knows about her intimate connection to Shane Nelson, one of the penitentiary’s most notorious and dangerous inmates.

The ending!
Reviewed: 01-22-24
For the most part I really liked this book. it was a little bit touch and go there for a while though. I feel like Brooke was absolutely Clueless and that a PA cannot possibly be that naive! Part of the book got on my nerves really bad especially when she was arguing with herself while her son was potentially in danger. The ending of the book made up for all the small parts that got on my nerves!

Story
The year was 1917. As a war raged across the world, young American women flocked to work, painting watches, clocks, and military dials with a special luminous substance made from radium. It was a fun job, lucrative and glamorous - the girls themselves shone brightly in the dark, covered head to toe in the dust from the paint. They were the radium girls. As the years passed, the women began to suffer from mysterious and crippling illnesses.

I loved the actual story itself it was amazing! I'm not sure what went wrong in the process of recording this book but you can hear every lip smack swallow or mouth noise the reader makes! I do not have misophobia and by the end of 15 hours it got on my nerves so bad! I barely funished the book! So just a warning if you do have misophobia skip this audiobook and pick up the actual book.

Story
Dirt is a story about the places where we start. From a single-wide trailer in the mountains of rural West Virginia to the halls of Yale Law School, Mary Marantz's story is one of remembering our roots while turning our faces to the sky. From growing up in that trailer, where it rained just as hard inside as out and the smell of mildew hung thick in the air, Mary has known what it is to feel broken and disqualified because of the muddy scars leaving smudged fingerprints across our lives.

Story
“Can I kiss you?” It was two months before the world premiere of Juno, and Elliot Page was in his first ever queer bar. The hot summer air hung heavy around him as he looked at her. And then it happened. In front of everyone. A previously unfathomable experience. Here he was on the precipice of discovering himself as a queer person, as a trans person. Getting closer to his desires, his dreams, himself, without the repression he’d carried for so long. But for Elliot, two steps forward had always come with one step back.

I dont know what it was with this book but I didn't care for it much. I'm not sure if it was his narration or that I was hoping there would be more about how his transition affected his daily life in the positive and negative ways. I was lefted with more questions then answeres.

This book was free with my audible Plus Membership so I didn't have High Hopes going in. but I honestly loved the book! I enjoyed it so much that if I would've had to use a credit or purchase it I would have not regretted doing it. the ending of the book took me by surprise and I wasn't expecting it. The only thing I did not like was some of the narration was pretty bad every time the narrator would say the main character's name I would have to ask myself if her name was Michelle or Me shell the narrator pronounced it exactly like that Me shell ( Not Michelle) for most of the book.

Story
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I didn't have high hopes but it was way better than I could ever imagine! and the ending was very unexpected! it is a very good read it was even worse a credit if I would have had to use one to read it.

Story
By the time Shania Twain was two, her parents had divorced, and by early childhood, her family of seven was often without food, at times living in a filthy one-bedroom apartment. But when her mother and stepfather were tragically killed in an automobile accident when she was 22, Shania knew that the only way to lift her family out of poverty was to use her God-given singing talent. At an age when most young people have only themselves to think about, Shania moved her entire family to a nearby resort where she began performing, supporting her younger brothers and sisters.

I LOVE Shania Twain but I don't know what is wrong with this book. I couldn't finish it. Memoirs are my favorite type of book so I'm not sure if its the narration or what. I wasn't a fan . The narrator is very slow and monotonous so it just makes the whole book sound boring. It is not at all what I expected.
