Story
At twenty-six, Ivy has their life figured out. They have a decent-paying job at the London office of Somnus Entertainment—the gaming company behind the wildly popular game Black Oasis—a draughty flat they inherited from their wild great aunt, and a few select friends to pass the time. They're a responsible adult, thank you very much, and while they might get lonely at times, they know better than to put too much stock into that fanciful notion known as love.

Story
I’m not attracted to men. Or so I thought before I slammed into Nikolai Sokolov. A mafia heir, a notorious bastard, and a violent monster. An ill-fated meeting puts me in his path. And just like that, he has his sights set on me. A quiet artist, a golden boy, and his enemy’s twin brother. He doesn’t seem to care that the odds are stacked against us. In fact, he sets out to break my steel-like control and blur my limits. I thought my biggest worry was being noticed by Nikolai. I’m learning the hard way that being wanted by this beautiful nightmare is much worse.

Great narration from all performers. This was my first Rina Kent book and I loved it. Niko and Bran had great chemistry in my opinion. While this book is long and could have been shorter if you take out a lot of the “breakups” I don’t mind the length. Just added to the feeling that these two simply can’t be without each other. I’m glad that justice was served at the end of this book, unlike the bad ending of God of Ruin. Definitely giving this book 5stars and ending my Rina Kent journey here. Her bimbo, virginal female characters don’t interest me so I will not continue with this series.

I’m out for revenge. After careful planning, I gave the man who messed with my family a taste of his own medicine. I thought it’d end there. It didn’t. Landon King is a genius artist, a posh rich boy, and my worst nightmare. He’s decided that I’m the new addition to his chess game. Too bad for him, I’m no pawn.

Hated the ending
Reviewed: 09-13-24
Great performance by both narrators. I was loving this story until the last couple chapters. The “twist” ending was absolutely stupid and completely ruined this book. Turning family against each other out of nowhere just left me feeling disappointed, especially when characters heavily acted out of character. Just seemed rushed or simply not thought out because there was zero build up to let you figure out who hurt Mia when she was little. Giving this book 3stars because I did like it, but definitely not going to be a reread or recommendation from me as the ending isn’t satisfying at all.

Cash's loyalty to his pack is unwavering. He'd sacrifice anything to protect his packmates. Do anything to keep them safe. Put their needs above his own...always. It is the life he was born for, and the one he's worked years to achieve. As an Enforcer, he swore an oath to his alpha: pack before self. Not once has he regretted his choices. Until an injured eagle shifter lands in his lap, and his protective instincts get torn in two. He knows he can't risk the safety of his pack...no matter what his panther demands.

Great start to spinoff series
Reviewed: 09-11-24
Absolutely love Kiki Clark’s Kincaid Pack series and this spin-off series seems like it is going to be just good! While it might be okay to read as a standalone, it picks up after the events of the Kincaid Pack series so I recommend reading/listening to those books first to get the maximum understanding of the world.
Kirt Graves as narrator is such a good choice. All characters have their own unique voice, even with such a large cast of characters so you always know who is speaking.
The beginning of this story is a little slow on the build up but overall a great listen. The Silver Oak pack is filled with characters that I’m dying to know more about. Can’t wait for book two!

Short and sweet prequel story
Reviewed: 04-22-24
This prequel story is a super cute and sweet expansion of Kiki Clark's Kincaid Pack series. While it doesn't go into the suspense plot of the main storyline, it does a nice job of teasing what is to come in the this novella's epilogue without giving any spoilers. The story doesn't need to be read or listened to in order to get the full story of the Kincaid Pack series, but it does expand on a couple of side characters that you meet in the main story, like Erika and Victor, so it was a neat read to get a little more of their background.
This is also another win in terms of narration by Kirt Graves. He just does a wonderful job of bringing the characters and story to life.

Caden hasn’t believed in fated mates since he was a cub. He figures it’s more of a fairytale that shifter parents tell their kids than the reality of what passes for mates in some of the packs he’s seen. But then he comes face-to-face with a human man who smells like orange blossoms and radiates authority and safety.

Great standalone in Kincaid Pack universe!
Reviewed: 04-09-24
Great standalone novel in Kiki Clark’s Kincaid Pack universe. While it is in the same universe and technically could be considered a continuation of the original series, this can definitely be read by itself without any confusion.
Loved all the new characters introduced. The two MCs have chemistry and feel a pull or imprint towards each other at first meeting but it’s not done in an instalove way which is nice to read in a fated mates story. I’m really hoping we will get to see and learn more about side characters in this pack, specifically Nero, Robbie and Dare. Im assuming we will see them in Ms. Clark’s upcoming Silver Oak Pack series which follows Liam, Quentin’s lion shifter brother. Note and minor spoiler: there is a loose end regarding an illegal shifter fighting & trafficking ring. It is noted at the end of the audio that this will be a part of the Silver Oak Pack series. This loose end does not act as a cliffhanger for this story, nor an open end. This story has an ending for the immediate issue and main plot regarding Caden.
Fast read/listen but good pacing, not rushed. Not angsty, any conflicts are minor and resolved quickly. Interesting new mating magic that I haven’t read before! Kirt Graves as narrator is such a good choice. All characters have their own voice and it’s really easy to know exactly who is speaking.
Loved this book. Will definitely be a reread/relisten for me!
