This one's a corker!

Thrills and spills, multiple plots, Fidelma and Eadulf getting themselves in and out of trouble. I'm glad there wasn't too much mush, in the light of ... well, I won't say.

This is a Russian sci-fi classic, like Solaris. The story revolves around the aftermath of an alien visit, but is not what you typically get from Hollywood. Very inventive and original.

The sequel to the number one Audible Best Seller Earthcore, Mount Fitz Roy continues the tale of Patrick O’Doyle and Bertha Lybrand, who were part of the horror show that occurred far below the mountains of Utah. They learn that the "mother of all motherlodes” discovered there was not unique, that there is another deposit similar to it three miles beneath the towering peak of Cerro Chaltén on the disputed border between Chile and Argentina. O'Doyle, a middle-aged former member of a disgraced black-ops unit, gets his aging team back together to go after this fortune.

I enjoyed hearing about the other site and what happened there. Not what I expected! Which is great. Quibbles: I think it's too long. A bit too much military gung-ho for me.

Story
Living and slaving in Fill City One, you get used to the smell. We call it the Everpresent Stink. But every once in a while, on a spring day with a breeze, it clears away enough to remind us that there is something more out there. Most Fillers' wildest dreams would be just to get past the walls and live in the mainland. But my dream? It’s a little bigger. I’m going to Mars.

A bit too cutesy for me but I'm sure it appeals to many. Well-written and well-narrated. A bit light on the science, but there are mysteries to keep you interested.
