Repetition of some of the information. I had heard about King Peggy (not sure of source). It was a nice story. I would really like to know how the school and other infrastructure projects are doing as I was unable to find anything concrete in Online searches.

I understand the process so much better! Will listen while completing steps. I have been trying to master Sourdough for 3 years this go round. Started long before the pandemic. My problem is lack of consistent results. Bakers percentages explained. How to "fix" problems in the process. I have added the starter to the dough AFTER autolyse as explained and had a much better dough and resulting bread. My family prefers a tighter crumb so I don't have do high hydration unless it's for something other than sandwich bread. I understand whe to add inclusions now. I am glad this is in a format for listening to while doing.

I remember when this was in the news. I enjoyed the readers so much, I actually thought they were Cheryl and Bobby Love reading there book! Their story, Bobby's story is full of twists and turns. Truth that life is what you make it. I thank them for writing and sharing their truth AND for the unabridged Audible version. I highly recommend this book to anyone who ever wondered about Bobby Love's story and for those who want to hear about regret, redemption, forgiveness all wrapped up in Love!!

I learned more about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and his nexus to being the advocate and historian of and for Africans living in America by force. I was moved by his documentary Black Patriots: Heroes of the Revolution so much that I immediately watched it again.

I appreciate his sharing what it was/is like being the son of a Black Police officer - especially during the late 50s and early 60s.

I appreciate his taking the time to write and address the systemic racism currently in society for Black and Native Peoples including other people of color marginalized by mainstream society.

This is a "read" worth repeating.

I read the first 4 books many years ago. I purchased the audio series when Jill Scott played the lead role. This is my second time listening to the series and I still love the series. I had forgotten quite a bit so it was refreshing and entertaining. I wish some of the other books were dramatized as well. I think many will enjoy listening. I highly recommend.

Seeing Jesus from the East Audiobook By Ravi Zacharias, Abdu Murray cover art

Compelling Message of Jesus of the East

So many Western believers fail to see Jesus of Nazareth as being from the Middle East. The Bible reflects the location, the people and the mores of the land and times. One of the things that Ravi Zacharias and Abdu Murray make clear is the difference between honor shame of the East and guilt innocence of the West. There is a difference. The explanation and examples made clear that we Westerners often misinterpret much of the Bible.

Ravi is one of my favorite apologists and theologians. This book is worth listening to again to fully digest the content in my spirit. Just as my trip to Mali, West Africa opened my eyes to the sacrifices those who convert from Islam to Christianity have to make with regard to family and friends. Where I visited many we cut off from family and community once they converted. In some villages the chief and elders decide for the village. I gained a deeper appreciation for the stories of the Bible and peoples as well as understanding that my choosing Jesus did not cost me no where near what those I met.

I enjoyed both of the authors' delivery of the information and providing the reader with multiple examples of the cost of faith. The differences between honor shame and guilt innocence societies. And the truth of how many scripture passages are interpreted through a Western lens and not through lens of the people (Middle Eastern to include Roman society) who were the audience the scriptures were originally written for.

I highly recommend this book for all Western believers. It will open your heart of understanding more clearly.

I read the first 5 books in the series YEARS ago. I enjoyed the few episodes of the show but didn't get to watch all. I was delighted to find the titles. And, thoroughly enjoyed the first book.

I've read this book 2x and this is my first time listening to it. I have to get me another copy of this book!

The story of Tademy's family is but a "glimpse" into the history of and life of her family that fully reveals the the history of one families roots in slavery and interracial relationships.

please read. You won't regret it.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

None of my friends would either read or listen to this book. It is just too scientific.

Were the concepts of this book easy to follow, or were they too technical?

Yes they were. But there are very technical. The book is a discussion of studies and such.

Which character – as performed by Erin Bennett – was your favorite?

N/A

Do you think The Big Fat Surprise needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes. It would make sense if there were a sequel for those who wish to delve in the science of fat in the diet.
