I was consumed by Maggie’s writing. Her descriptions were enthralling. In the first half of the story, I was wondering if we were glimpsing a psychological portrait that was off kilter in some ways. After that, I slowly started thinking I was listening to another story of a man abusing a woman and was tempted to set it aside. The ending however fantastical it may seem, was very satisfying. I think I will read more of Maggie O’Farrell’s work. I also loved Hamnet.

I read this during the pandemic in 2020 and I have to say it was weirdly comforting. Comparing and contrasting Mendel’s world with a true pandemic helped me to see that do have hope. I liked how she skipped back and forth in time. She filled in time periods just as I was wondering what had happened one or another character.

I have suffered from one form or another of eating disorders for over 45 years. I got immediate and lasting recovery from the simple yet effective directions that Kathryn lays out here. She essentially told my story but thankfully she was able to recover and chose to share her recovery path and is now helping others to also recover. I will forever be grateful. Thank you Kathryn!

This was completely mesmerizing all the way through. It came on sweetly, quietly and got under my skin to where I took a day off of work to listen to the end. The writing was lovely, the voice was perfect and the story so touching and tragic.

I really like dr Christiansen’s approach. I feel as if it is a common sense approach to eating and living. I am about to start the program so I am full of hope. Time will tell. I liked that he was the one who actually does the reading. I liked his voice. Joining the Facebook group has been very helpful too.

To be honest, my husband is the true Bruce fan in the family. I bought the discs, book and audible for him for the holidays. We spent our drive time out to see family for the holidays and for funerals listening to Bruce's story. I know my husband would give this 10 million stars if he could. I have to admit that I personally was mesmerized from beginning to end. Bruce is an amazing story teller and he has the perfect voice to deliver it. I would recommend this to anyone remotely interested in rock and roll, Bruce or even just life!
