Story
Leland Gaunt opens a new shop in Castle Rock called Needful Things. Anyone who enters his store finds the object of his or her lifelong dreams and desires: a prized baseball card, a healing amulet. In addition to a token payment, Gaunt requests that each person perform a little "deed", usually a seemingly innocent prank played on someone else from town. These practical jokes cascade out of control, and soon the entire town is doing battle with itself. Only Sheriff Alan Pangborn suspects that Gaunt is behind the population's increasingly violent behavior.

once of my least favorite I would highly recommend skipping this title.

Needful things is one of my least favorite titles written by Stephen King. there are two books that he's written so far that I just can't stand and this is one of them - The other is langoliers. The story itself started out strong and then just went down rabbit holes of terribbleness. there is such a thing as too many details- just overwritten ! The performance was not very good . Honestly Stephen King should stick to writing the stories and letting other people narrate. The music that separated the chapters was just annoying . I would highly recommend skipping this title.

it was good but a bit confusing

I am a huge fan of time travel tales and this one had a different twist which was interesting.
The narrator was good. I don't know if it was the narrator or the way the story was written but sometimes it was difficult to understand which time period the character was written.
I really enjoyed some of the twists and turns.
I wouldn't say it was a favorite but it definitely kept me interested.

In 2059, two vastly different groups of people portrayed by the compelling trio of Brendan Fraser (Academy Award winner), Luke Kirby (Emmy Award winner), and Vanessa Sears (Dora Award winner) undergo cryonic suspension. While their bodies are frozen, their minds, still active and awake, are uploaded into a massive quantum computer. The first group are all astronauts, about to leave Earth on a one-way interstellar colonization mission. The second group consists of convicted murderers and volunteers who elect to serve their sentences in a virtual-reality prison.

I bought this title for 2 reasons. The first because I am a fan of Brendan Fraser and the 2nd because I wanted to try a different than my usual genres. Brendan Fraser's performance was good but it absolutely did not make up for the lack of depth in the story. There was only one part (at the very end ) that was surprising. I feel that a lot of the story was predictable and honestly boring. Nothing and I truly mean NO PART of the story had me craving more - just lacking. It felt like the last 2 episodes were rushed to meet a deadline.
My other issue with this title is that put today's political and social issues into the book. In my opinion, books can be an escape from the world . I do NOT want to have to roll my eyes because " my escape" just brought me back to the political and social issues facing the world today - to get the "jab" or not , transgender, attempted rape...etc.

Overall I really enjoyed the book . I kinda like the approach the author took telling it, BUT the ending was lacking. It would have been so much better if the details were given instead of a broad summation. It was a short read leaving me wanting more.

Story
I was nobody. No matter how hard I tried, I never fit in with anyone at my high school. Now I know why. Turns out I'm a witch. A scary powerful one, too. Except The Coven that claimed me won't teach me how to use my magic. Suddenly, I'm selected by the Goddess to hunt down a mythical locket needed to save the world from destruction. The only person who actually tries to help me is the alarmingly attractive Tennessee. He has immeasurable power and breathtaking mismatched eyes. I'm drawn to him on a level I can't explain...and he's forbidden from getting too close to me.

Great book but the narrator is terrible
Reviewed: 09-05-22
I want to begin with I love the book. The idea that love could happen across the boundaries of time is wonderful. However, the narrator Scott Brick sounded completely suicidal for duration of the entire book - even during the happier moments. He made it difficult to continue listening. I truly hope I never have the displeasure of listening to him in any other future titles.

Story
In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: They become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place.... The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease.

This book left me wanting better .. I was disappointed in the story. It had A LOT of potential but fell flat. The ending fell flat and was disappointing.
I must say that the narrator was fantastic and even as bad as the book was she really brought the characters to life.
