Book 1 of the Morgan saga is about building the character, Morgan. Book 2, Le Fey, is about her life back in Camelot and how her relationship with Arthor falls apart and her revenge on Merlin.
Morgan, as it turns out, is not pure evil as depicted in Arthorian legends. She is an intelligent woman with ambition and passion. But her ambition is to help her half brother, Arthur, build a kingdom. But as history would tell you, women with a brain are considered dangerous. Hence, she is painted as evil, power-hungry witch. Now we have a new series that tell her side of the story.
The author made research about Morgan and gave her voice and painted a beautiful, magical, idyllic world for readers. I absolutely LOVE this series. The narrator Miranda Raison is AWESOME! She's an excellent narrator. She brought the story to life and mesmerizes listeners. I can't wait for Book 3. Please have Miranda narrate it.

Funny throughout the book. The author is brilliant at weaving the story and it is filled with British sense of humor here and there.
Narration is spot on! Especially with the interaction between Daphne and Art.

Satirical representation of marriage.

I love how Haze and Fox are perfect partners in crime. They contrast and complement each other. Fox came from money, Haze from a broken system. Fox is meticulous, Haze is sloppy. Fox is the responsible alpha male while Haze is like a rebellious teenager without a care.
Their shared passion was what brought them together. When they can longer do it, will they be able to maintain the love and passion for each other ?

Insightful observations that apply to marriage and life in general :
We were so busy having fun and being happy that we never took the time to work out if it was the life we loved or each other.
People with money never feel like they have enough.
Silence is an excellent tool for eliciting a confession.

The story is ironical, romantic, funny, insightful, thought-provoking.
I love both narrators. They do the characters justice.

Harry Potter meets Hunger Game for adults.
Romantacy is basically romance nonsense.
This story is full of romance cliche. Two boys compete for one girl. Girl falls for the bad boy, turns out the bad boy's not so bad and the good boy's not so good.
Too much swearing and too horny.
The narration is excellent. I enjoyed the narration but the story is quite stupid. Twilight fans might like it.

Great story. Volume 1 of the Morgan saga

I like this book very much. It's the beginning of the story of Morgan le Fey, how she came to be. You can view this book as the Volume 1 of the Morgan saga. The forming stage of Morgan le Fey.
I've listened to Circe, Psyche and Eros, and Medea. I love these re-imaginations of classic stories from a female's perspective. Too long, women have been villified by men. It's about time we women stand up and tell our side of the story. No woman was born evil and subversive, as depicted in those so called classics written by men. We are shaped by our society, and its expectations. But we also use our brain. We learn, we grow, and we evolve. That's what these stories are doing: showing who we really are.
Vanessa Kirby's performance is almost spot on. Her voice and rendition is what I would imagine the story should be. It is just like the destription on the cover of Le Fey, "as mesmerizing as the ocean's tides." However, her speed was too slow in the beginning and almost put me to sleep. Then I remembered I could speed it up so I turned the speed to 1.15. Then about a third of the book, it became too quick so I had to slow it down to 1.1, then 1.05. Finally the normal speed 1.0 was fine til the end.
I couldn't wait to start listening to Le Fey, which was read by a different person. Then it was kind of off. The new reader is a bit too cheerful right after Vinessa Kirby. If listened seperately, not right after Morgan, it might have been ok. But I listened to Le Fey right after Morgan, and the contrast was obvious. I had to give myself some time before I start Le Fey again. Overall, I like this story. I can't wait to start Le Fey and the rest of the saga.

The author is lost in describing the story and forgot to tell the story. It is painfully slow and long. For a long time, the story doesn't move. It's stuck half way. You don't see the point of some details if it doesn't move the story ahead.

But no. The story line is confusing. I thought it would surround puzzle solving but there's not much about puzzles. And it kept saying that the protagonist Mike Brink is scientific and logical but it then looks like they will need an exorcist in the last quarter of the book. Nothing scientific or logical about that.
I would recommend the author to read the classic screenwriting book Save the Cat.
The narration is terrible too. Basically there's nothing good about ylthis audio book.

I read Psyche and Cupid when I was a little girl and I am loving these re-imaginations of ancient Greek mythology from a feminist perspective.
Girls shouldn't be princesses waiting to be rescued by men, nor are we stupid girls good for nothing except causing troubles as ancient legends or myths impled. The author made sure of it.
The book draws you in as the story unfolds. It is beautifully written, well-crafted, and ends satisfactorily. I LOVE everything about it.

OMG! What a book 📖 ❤️

Brilliant concept, well-crafted plot, surprising turns, and satisfying ending. (not too happy with the Woman's tho.) Can't believe it's a début book. Well done!
Amazon page says it is "for readers of The Midnight Library," but The Midnight Library is so depressing, whiney, and repetitive. The Book of Doors is so much better. It is hopeful. It is unpredictable. Just as you get comfortable with the way things are, there's a surprising turn. It keeps you guessing throughout the book.
I love the friendship, the camaraderie, the unconditional support, and the quiet patience. And I particularly love how Mr. Webber helped Cassie for a decade out of kindness; he never imposed his loneliness on Cassie when he could have. The whole story isn't just a journey of personal growth for Cassie, it is one for Drummond as well. At the end, these lonely people found each other and helped each other, and became a great book hunting team, not for profit, but for the greater good.

The voice rendition is awesome. Miranda Raison is awesome. All kinds of accents, emotions, and speed change, makes the listen enjoyable and draws you in. She also read for Lessons in Chemistry and Le Fey, another two of my favorites because of her narration. She is definitely my favorite narrator.

I was in a bookstore looking for another book but the title of this one drew my attention. I didn't find it. It found me and I'm so pleased that it did. It is one of my favorites now.

My first impression was it wasn't as funny or interesting as some book reviews promised, probably because I'm not British. Jokes are lost on me. As I continued, the story unfolded and I started to get the jokes. Just when I started to root for Grace, the end was a bit sloppy. Could do without. Unless if there's going to be a sequel. Voice rendition is great. Just as I would imagine Grace would sound like. 5 for the voice.
