Eglantine got the spotlight, loved it

Loved how Eglantine got the spotlight and developed as a character in this book. The stakes were high and there was lots of excitement. The narrator really brings out the personalities of each character.

Story
In this era of mass consumption, we are all drowning in 'stuff', despite our best efforts to keep on top of the clutter that collects in our homes, our office spaces and even our cars. All this clutter causes us mental anguish. However, as we all know, throwing things away can be difficult - it clashes with the values instilled in us from an early age of not wasting things, reusing items and keeping things 'for a rainy day'. Simply put, we feel guilty about getting rid of things. Enter Nagisa Tatsumi and her bold suggestion - that it's okay to throw stuff away.

An eye-opening book even after reading two books about the Konmari method. Very enjoyable too.

Story
It began as a dream, a quest for the Great Ga'Hoole Tree, a mythic place where each night an order of owls rises to perform noble deeds. There Soren, Gylfie, Twilight, and Digger hope to find inspiration to fight the evil that dwells in the owl kingdom.
The journey is long and harrowing. When Soren and his friends finally arrive at the Great Ga'Hoole Tree, they will be tested in ways they never dreamed and face challenges they never imagined.

I read the first book as a physical book. This one was even better and exciting. I loved the narrator. Actually hearing the owl's songs added something great to the experience. Makes you fall in love with owls!

Story
Retired astronaut Adam Alston can't support his family. When NASA comes knocking for a mission leader, it's a match made in heaven - especially since their A-list team declined the haphazard mission. And so did their B-list. But Adam doesn't know that. And neither does his family.

One of the best Mars novels I've read.

Story packed with cliches and hypocricy

The main character is unlikeable and the story is just bad. Adam finds an explanation for all his actions from his family, and his family is mentioned over and over again as if it would justify everything. Other characters and their motives remain very shallow throughout the novel. It takes a long time before any real action begins in the story, and the warming up seems pointless since the characters are so one-dimensional. The novel felt like a script of a bad sci-fi film.
