Story
Beth and her gentle, kind husband Frank are happily married, but their relationship relies on the past staying buried. But when Beth’s brother-in-law shoots a dog going after their sheep, Beth doesn’t realize that the gunshot will alter the course of their lives. For the dog belonged to none other than Gabriel Wolfe, the man Beth loved as a teenager—the man who broke her heart years ago. Gabriel has returned to the village with his young son Leo, a boy who reminds Beth very much of her own son, who died in a tragic accident.

An amazing book that keeps flowing from beginning to end. Some of the book is predictable but you are so caught up in the story you don’t care. Some characters I loved at the beginning, completely changed at the end. I finished in 25 hours.

Story
A bad best man’s speech can ruin a wedding. Why do we plan every detail of a perfect day and then give the groom’s idiot best friend five minutes of total power? Enter Nate (Glen Powell), a speechwriter-for-hire who helps people write incredible best man speeches. To keep the best man from embarrassing himself (and the newlyweds), Nate uses his list of don’ts: Don’t mention the exes, don’t be rated R, and don’t bum everyone out. Nate’s system never fails. That is, until he meets Dan (Nicholas Braun).

I normally love true crime and non-fiction so this was a great change. I loved the characters and their voices!!! I seriously couldn’t get enough listening to this book. It might have been fiction but the root of the story is so true on friendship and love.

Story
Roger Stringer grew up in rural Mississippi, hunting and eating everything from deer to rabbits. When he had two sons, Zac and Justin, he gave them guns and took them to the woods as well. Then one day when the boys were home alone, he got a call from Zac that Justin had been shot. What follows is an intimate and gripping memoir about the shooting’s aftermath. The story moves between the perspectives of Roger and Zac as they take us through their journey of betrayal, redemption, and ultimately confrontation with a company that had kept its corruption a secret for decades.

His reference to his wife constantly. A little overdone. I hate how his family hasn’t taken him back. You can feel the hurt in his words and in several situations.

I grew up loving RS. I just recently saw him in concert in Fort Wayne. He was my first crush. I had this book sitting in my library for a long time. I finally listened to it and I am happy I did. It’s raw. He’s funny. You get disappointed in him. You love him. In the end he is human like all of us!! So happy I got to know him passed his music.

I loved the chapters about her movies! Huge Prince of Tides fan. Yentle was interesting to hear about but sad how she bashed her co star so much. Barbra is so critical and mean towards people:( I love Robert Redford and enjoyed hearing about their movie. Her early life was interesting and how she met her husband Jim.
The political stuff sucked. Who cares what these stars think!! She was a little full of herself when talking politics.

A great story in the beginning!
Reviewed: 01-10-24
I loved the beginning of the book and hearing about his early life. It was so interesting on how he started and had so much great detail. What I didn’t want to hear was all the politics. What Nash believes in and the causes he fights for are wonderful! Nash didn’t need to express so much hate towards past political figures. Nash talks about love, forgiveness and being a good person. It was disappointing to see that side of him. I was quickly turned off by Nash. I won’t listen to his songs anymore:(

Story
Henry Winkler, launched into prominence as “The Fonz” in the beloved Happy Days, has transcended the role that made him who he is. Brilliant, funny, and widely regarded as the nicest man in Hollywood (though he would be the first to tell you that it’s simply not the case, he’s really just grateful to be here), Henry shares in this achingly vulnerable memoir the disheartening truth of his childhood, the difficulties of a life with severe dyslexia, the pressures of a role that takes on a life of its own, and the path forward once your wildest dream seems behind you.

What I fell in love with was his quirky personality. I bet he is a handful at home, lol. I love how he loves life and doesn’t give up! I forgot he was the “Fonz” by the end of the book. Henry seemed so honest and vulnerable about himself. I love how he calls himself out. It was a lovely read and I loved getting to know Henry! I hope he always stays quirky!
