For five grand a month and a million-dollar chaser, Roger Mulligan didn't care how crazy the old geezer was. All he had to do was keep Joseph Perry Shackleford alive and keep him from squandering the estate for a year. But they didn't tell him about the pixies.

This is a light enjoyable book I would highly recommend, with just the right amount of drama that didn't get you worked up.

I enjoyed the book very much. Some parts were draggy but necessary so try not to skip through the clown part. Otherwise I was able to immerse myself into the story and the lives of all the characters. I look forward to Book 3. I do wonder though if one of the characters actually realise the way home is staring at them in the face. But I await for the next book to see if my theory is correct. :-)

Story
"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Engaging, draggy in some parts

An enjoyable book. Performance was good with individual voices for each character. The personality of the characters really came through due to the voices and you do get hooked into this different world. I would suggest not to get too invested in the characters but I think you will find it hard not to.

Story
Wizard scouts are the greatest fighting force the galaxy has ever seen, but after years of war between the Intergalactic Empire and the bat-like Crosoians, the wizard scout corps numbers have dropped to near extinction levels. One of the few remaining wizard scouts is Richard Shepard. In an all-or-nothing gambit, the bats have gathered the largest fleet of warships the galaxy has ever seen to destroy the weakened humans once and for all. The Empire's only hope for survival may well lie on the shoulders of Richard and the crew of the recon ship Defiant.

Loved the story but the narration was slow so had to speed it up 1.30x and then it was okay. I am looking forward to the next book.

Super Story

This is the fourth book in the series and I have enjoyed every bit of it. It isn't for everyone I would suspect but I did enjoy it very much. The narrator and the performance - different voices for the different characters- were very good and gave the different personalities substance and depth. I would recommend this book to anyone who has grown up watching or reading super hero's in movies or comics. More than that, it makes you believe - ok this is cliche - that hero's really do exist and is in everyone of us. I hope there will be other books that carry on the stories of the Class of Nightmares but I am satisfied to know that in the end, truth and friendship prevails.

Betrayal
Reviewed: 11-26-16
The 4th book in the series has shown that the lead character is maturing and now making the tough decisions, which he would probably not make earlier in his career as the Hand of the Mage King of Mars. For those who are considering buying this audio book, I do highly recommend it, although it might confuse you a little as it isn't the normal magic and sci-fi story one would imagine it to be. It does require a bit of a mental adjustment if you are a pure fantasy or sci-fi fan but you do get into the plot and enjoy the ride. Hope you find this book and its first 3 books enjoyable.

I enjoyed this 3rd book of the series very much. The characters and the plots with twists and turns does keep you guessing what is actually going on and the narrator was good. I am not sure if superhero stories is your thing but if it is you should start with Year 1.

Entertaining and gets more intriguing
Reviewed: 07-30-16
I recommend this book for those who love super hero comics and the like. One should listen to the first book to get context and also to get use to the way it is narrated. There are various voices used for different characters but some sound similar so you have to pay attention who is being referred to. This story line may not be everyone's cup of tea but if it is, I think you will find it enjoyable and strangely amusing that super heroes actually have to go to school :-)
