About this listen

Wizard scouts are the greatest fighting force the galaxy has ever seen, but after years of war between the Intergalactic Empire and the bat-like Crosoians, the wizard scout corps numbers have dropped to near extinction levels. One of the few remaining is Wizard Scout Richard Shepard.

In an all-or-nothing gambit, the bats have gathered the largest fleet of warships the galaxy has ever seen to destroy the weakened humans once and for all. The Empire's only hope for survival may well lie on the shoulders of Richard and the crew of the recon ship Defiant.

Faced with the seemingly impossible task of ending the war before more are killed Richard must travel deep into the heart of the Crosoian Federation. Along with his elven bondmate Jeena and the rag-tag crew of the Defiant, Richard is forced to seek out the unlikeliest of allies: a Crosoian scout sworn to kill him and all he holds dear.

With a demon army poised to invade the three galaxies, the success of the Defiant’s mission depends on retrieving an artifact from the very pits of Hell itself. Can even a wizard scout prevail?

Plot too complicated.

Too many moving parts, hard to keep track of storyline. Also too much juvenile behavior on part of main characters. Lesser characters displayed more maturity. Not to say parts weren't really good, but other parts meh!

Amazing as always.

it's common in most series for the sequels to get worse or not as riveting over time. That is not the case for this book or the entire series in general. Rodney Hartman... this book was great. Keep up the good work. I'll will definitely buy the next installment.

Consistent character development

For some reason, I have always liked the integration of technology and the magic in a story the similarities are the way they function, and sometimes when they can be used in conjunction with one another. The other thing I enjoyed about these books are the characters that are represented there, the love interests, the protagonist and antagonist all work well in the writing of the series of books

Not my favorite

I have read all of the books in this series and have been disappointed in the last two. The stories are good and the narration great, but there is too much filler, like "in their shared space", and referring back stories that have no relevance to what is going on at the time.

Oh boy!!!

This is the best one of the series so far. So much action, plot lines coming together, on the edge of my seat situations and more! I loved it and can't wait for the next

Great story but slow narration

Loved the story but the narration was slow so had to speed it up 1.30x and then it was okay. I am looking forward to the next book.
