I really thought this had an interesting premise, so I decided to listen. Lord mistake. I couldn’t even finish this novel. It just felt like one (sadly not even interesting) smut scene to the next. I so badly tried to weather it through hoping they’d circle back to the plot. When it got the point I was bored and zoning out trying to listen, I knew it was time to throw in the towel.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Dragos and Pia are by far my favorite couple in the elder races series. Their dynamic is hilarious and makes for an interesting mix no matter what situation theyre in.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lord's Fall?

When Dragos comes to save Pia and the Elves from the fire.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Pia wakes up to find everyone asleep and she sarcastically wakes everyone up.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The begining of time has come to this.

Any additional comments?

My only complaint is that it feels like she tried to cram too much into one book. The book could have easily been a few hours longer. Towars the end I felt like she was trying to wrap up sooooo much that she jumped time and scenes quickly.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The characters were already well established in the first book and you kinda knew what you were in for even with their brief disagreement. Tiago seems to be the only who really has an understanding of their relationship while she is clueless 90% of the book.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I know that this book was mostly about her becoming the dark fae queen and going to the capitol, but the first book managed to do everything and encorporate a lot of romance. She was so closed off and trying to push him away while having her own melt downs that it tip toed on the line to annoying.

What about Sophie Eastlake’s performance did you like?

All the characters has polar opposite voices and it made it very easy to figure out who was saying what.

Did Storm's Heart inspire you to do anything?

It made me want to read the next book in the series.

If you could sum up At Grave’s End in three words, what would they be?

Growth, Inner Battles

What other book might you compare At Grave’s End to and why?

This one is really about the world that they are living in - because they are already established as a couple - so it stands out as rather unique.

Which character – as performed by Tavia Gilbert – was your favorite?

Bones is always my favorite, his accent is so specific you know exactly when he enters a room.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Things will change.

Would you listen to Jacob again? Why?

I loved the relationship between the main characters. It was something different in how the world is set up and how the characters ended up in our world.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Jacob?

The initial meeting when she is looking out the window. It's such a simple way to meet, but really works well.

What does Xe Sands bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She was great at being able to switch accents quickly. Each character was so distinct and the emotions really came through.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Several time I started laughing because the characters in the world just act ridiculous, but it fits more than if they acted normally.

What would have made Serpent's Kiss better?

I love Rune, but the intro for Carling from the previous book just did not make me like her. She does grow and become a likable person for me towards the end, but it was literally a struggle for me to get through. It was all about the science and Carling through 80% of the book and Rune became almost unlikable with her through the begining. Really for me it was the characters and the dynamic in the begining is what made it bad for me.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I already finished the next in the series and ADORE it! I'm glad I read this one though because otherwise I'd be lost in book 4.

Which scene was your favorite?

At the end I loved it when Rune and Carling faced down the Elder Tribunal.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I was really disappointed in this book through 80% because it just didn't have that electric pull like the rest. Usually I can get through an Elder Races book in 2 days or less, this one took me 2 weeks. I just couldn't develop that connection to the character Carling.

Any additional comments?

It is an important book to the series overall so I recommend reading it for that reason alone. The ending is extremely good.

What made the experience of listening to Halfway to the Grave the most enjoyable?

The build of the characters with Bones and Cat. They really are complex characters and as you get to know them you get to understand their reasoning.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Cat. I feel like I've been in her place a few times and she's a great relatable character - even though it's a fantasy genre.

Which character – as performed by Tavia Gilbert – was your favorite?

Bones. The accent threw me off at first, but now I can't imagine anything else for him.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The humor Bones had and a few of Cats bone headed reactions made me laugh.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It has a different feeling from the traditional romance novels. I love the main character for her quick wit and loyalty.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Never Seduce a Scot?

When everyone finally understood why she had not talked for 3 years.

Which scene was your favorite?

When she got back on the horse to save him.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a lot when she was not talking. She was so firey that I loved to see how she would try to get her point across.

Any additional comments?

The only thing that really confused me is the girl on the cover is a brunette, but then they describe her as a blonde. Though I do prefer this cover to the one that is on the actual hard copy book.
