I found this book after listening to a podcast (“Betrayal”) with his wife. I don’t recall hearing about this case. I continued to just shake my head as the story unfolds.

What a pleasant surprise. I’m not sure how I came upon this book but so glad I did. Truly beautiful prose tells the story of lives lived in very difficult times and situations. Highly recommend.

I loved this book …and I am not usually a paranormal fan. I’ve read most of Ellis’ latest books because they were narrated by Richard Armitage (who is truly unparalleled in the Audible narrator realm) but I quickly fell in love with Jackman, Evans and the fens.
Looking for “something to read” I happened upon “An Aura of Mystery” and gave it a try. I loved the rich characters, time and place. I’m only sorry there aren’t more books in the series. In the entry, Ellis shares this was one of her earliest works and it had been sitting in a drawer for 20+ years. What a treasure.
Sophie Rundle does a great job narrating. It’s certainly worth a listen!

I thoroughly enjoyed this series. The two profilers work well together and are also great narrators. Informative without being overly academic.

As usual, fabulous narration by Richard Armitage. Glad they waited for his availability. The rich character development of Jackman and Evans and the crew is outstanding. Great plot, satisfying ending. 5 out of 5!

I've been an avid fan of this series since the beginning...waiting anxiously for each new installment. When I saw that this was THE LAST Decker Lazarus title I jumped right in. I am hardly a prude and will read a "racy" story without much notice. But I didn't EXPECT seemingly endless graphic sex scenes...with a good deal of kink btw...from a Decker Lazarus book. Kind of like opening a book to read the children's classic "Heidi" and getting "Heidi Does Hollywood"...the XXX version.

Maybe she was getting pressure from her editors to spice it up. Lots of recent "psychological thrillers" have taken a sexual turn (I'm thinking "Tampa" and "Verity" as examples). That's okay...you just have to look at the cover to know what you're getting. I just finished the book thinking that my old friends Peter and Rina deserved better for their final send off.

We’ll written, funny, raw and honest. Recommend to anyone trying to get sober or who loves someone trying to get sober.

I did find the narrator’s voice oddly robotic at times. 🤷‍♀️

As I sit here bawling through the last chapter I decided I had to leave a review. This was an “I’m just looking for something to read” selection. I quickly was engaged by the Holy Ghost Girl narrator’s story made even more vivid by the wonderful narrator. While the writing is exceptional, I have to believe I was more enchanted by listen to this wonderful performance than if I simply read it. Unusual topic? Pentecostal history? Revivals, healings and tents? DO NOT let any of that put you off reading this book. 5 stars!

The narrator’s pronunciation drove me crazy. Her launch into French phrases without a translation…please God, Medici is not that hard a pronunciation. This is one I might have enjoyed more reading myself.

We now know that Ghislane is behind bars. After listening to this podcast, I have a better idea why…and why a smoking gun is unlikely to appear anytime soon. Fascinating…well reported. Corruption runs wide and deep…across industries, across countries, through all levels of government. 🤷‍♀️
