Worst narration ever — solid story.

This is without a doubt the worst-narrated audiobook I’ve ever gotten through Audible. The story is a good continuation of The Hollows. But, wow, did they misfire with this narrator. I hope future audiobooks return to the previous narrator.

This is a compelling narrative which gives an honest, full view of BPB in the context of her family. It can be a bit repetitive, though I assume that is done for the purpose of researchability.

Their beautiful, mist-shrouded town seems almost stuck in time, and all three women lead seemingly quiet, uneventful existences. But they are harboring a mighty secret—they are powerful witches banned from using their magic. Joanna can resurrect people from the dead and heal the most serious of injuries....

This is billed as a story for adults, but...

So, I watched the TV version of this show and was disappointed with the abrupt and incomplete ending. Hoping to get some form of closure, I bought the book for a road trip. The story is completely different, which was fine, until I had the same sense that the book flopped at the end just as the show did. There was so much potential but it was squandered with a (rathe tortures) mythological deus ex machina at end.

This was a wonderful backstory of how the interstates were made possible. I wish, however, that more of a narrative had been included on the actual construction of the interstate highways themselves rather than just abstract narrative.
